You put a coin in the slot and it played a black and white film about 5 or 10 minutes long if my memory is correct. I never put any money in it because there were always some teenagers around who did. I had heard about TV and I thought that was what I was watching."

Long before there were music videos, there were musical film shorts called "soundies". Sometimes these were played in viewing booths that worked like jukeboxes. Drop in a coin, and hear the band, and see them play.
