…On this day on 1784 Western North Carolina (now eastern Tennessee) declared itself an independent state under the name of Franklin; it was not recognized or accepted into the United States, and it only lasted for four years. However it did separate from NC later and became the State of TN in 1796.

A woman boarded a bus in Brussels today and attacked her fellow passengers with a machete, wounding three of them before she was shot by police. Two of the passengers are in serious condition, and the attacker is also in the hospital. She is said to be of “Asian” background, and has a history of mental problems. There’s no word yet on whether she was bullied in school.

In other news, former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani said in a Fox News appearance that the press is ignoring the issue of Hillary Clinton’s ill health.…
