Faculty and students at Oakland University in Michigan have started arming themselves with hockey pucks for self-defense against active shooters.

…On this date in 1804 the Senate began an impeachment trial of Federalist Supreme Court Justice Samuel Chase. The House had impeached him for using political leanings in judgments instead of the law and the Constitution. Gee, every liberal judge on the court now would be impeached. However, they set a bad precedent on this trial. The Senate acquitted him. One wonders if one of those Senators quoted Scottish law.
