Wars and Rumors

...commander of a powerful Libyan militia said Monday that looters had stolen “a large number” of shoulder-fired, heat-seeking missiles from the militia’s base when protesters who called for dismantling the country’s militias overran the compound. … used by fighters to “hit airplanes” and known to the U.S. intelligence community as MANPADS (man-portable air-defense systems), were stolen along with 2,000 semiautomatic rifles and ammunition, as the militia withdrew from its base amid a firefight early Saturday. … It was unclear whose hands the weapons had fallen into. … A senior Obama administration official said earlier this month that U.S. intelligence estimates that 100 to 1,000 MANPADS are still unaccounted for in Libya, despite U.S. efforts to destroy them. Intelligence officials believe that some of the MANPADS have been smuggled across Libya’s borders. … Although military aircraft now have countermeasures that have rendered the weapons largely ineffective in conventional battle, MANPADS continue to pose a serious threat to passenger planes. … “In the wrong hands, shoulder-fired antiaircraft missiles pose a major threat to passenger air travel, the commercial aviation industry and possibly military aircraft around the world,” Andrew J. Shapiro, an assistant secretary of state who oversees the effort said in a speech this year. “Not only could a successful attack against an aircraft cause a devastating loss of life, but it could also cause significant economic damage.”

According to reports the Department of Homeland Security is expecting significant push-back in the very near future, which explains why they already have thousands of heavily armored vehicles in DHS 'Police/Rescue' livery, resplendent in either a dashing Gulf War tan or menacing stealth-anthracite

Digital Threat

The Internet Association formally threw open its doors for business Wednesday, unveiling the 14 Web companies that make up its membership (they include AOL, Amazon, Facebook, Google, LinkedIn, RackSpace and Zynga, among others)....

Its launch, and its new chief...mark a turning point on Capitol Hill.

You may have noticed these names ring a bell or two. Indeed, after you scratch off the thin layer of fresh Red paint, you find the same old Leftists, pushing the same old illegal and unpopular, failed and failing policies.

Disinformation Propaganda and Spin

…the implications here are staggering. If this film was indeed produced by Islamic hucksters, and Shoebat makes a very good case that it was — what does that make the Obama administration, who so enthusiastically jumped on the anti anti-Mohammed film bandwagon, and stayed on, even as the narrative fell apart?

"If you were to somehow beat the first African-American president, what would you say to the black community to assure them that you would be their president also?"

The first thing that should grab your eye is the word "somehow."

Somehow?

Know the Enemy

Hillary, faced

What We, the People first need to understand for ourselves (since our leaders are AWOL) is that just as once upon a time the Soviet Union labored mightily for world revolution — “right up to the eve of its collapse,” as Robert Conquest has written – the drive for world Islamization is no pipe dream, either. Some years ago, federal investigators discovered a Muslim Brotherhood manifesto for “grand jihad” against the United States by destroying it “from within.” Earlier this month, Walid Shoebatdiscovered what amounts to a companion document online — an extraordinary book in Arabic, which he calls a “Saudi manifesto” for global Islamization commissioned by King Fahd (d. 2005). Among the sources it draws upon is a work by Sayed Zaynul Abedin, Huma Abedin’s father, called “Muslim Minorities in the West.” The book lays out a sweeping Saudi program to mobilize colonies of “Muslim Minorities” throughout the West to introduce, to entrench, to elevate sharia (Islamic law) above all other law.

One strategic point the Saudi plan puts forward is the need to prevent “Muslim Minorities” from assimilating into the cultures of host nations. As Shoebat notes, the document mentions “already established centers, educational programs, mosques and organizations in the United States” as being “geared towards hindering any Western plan for Muslim assimilation in a non-Muslim host nation.

It's All in Your Mind

We are more likely to be receptive to good news than bad…. a 40-second blast of transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), which sends magnetic pulses into the head, to disrupt different parts of their brains. In one group, the TMS was aimed at a part called the left inferior frontal gyrus (IFG), in another at the right IFG, and in the third, the target was a control region of the brain, where the pulses were not expected to have much effect. … Those who had magnetic stimulation to the right IFG, or a control part of the brain, showed the usual good news bias: that is, they updated their beliefs more on hearing good news…. But stimulation of the left IFG destroyed the bias. Those people were just as likely to change their views based on bad news as good. "We believe the left inferior frontal gyrus is normally inhibiting other parts of the brain from learning from bad news. But by interfering with the left IFG we're releasing this inhibition…."

Defending Ourselves

My statement to the United Nations would have been, “The future does not belong to those who attack our Embassies and Consulates and kill our Ambassadors. The Angel of Death in the form of an American Bald Eagle will visit you and wreak havoc and destruction upon your existence”
