Wars and Rumors

Jesus Christ is no longer welcome at a school district in Tipton, Missouri. And neither are prayers or a religious hymn.

The Tipton R-VI School District decided to cleanse itself of anything remotely affiliated with Christianity after they were bullied by the Freedom From Religion Foundation. They even pulled down a giant portrait of our Lord that was displayed in the grade school’s library.

The FFRF is a Wisconsin-based group of perpetually offended atheists, agnostics and free-thinkers. They fired off a nasty letter to the school board claiming to represent a “concerned attendee” of the annual high school awards program.…

Animal Companions

A stray pit bull has a new home a month after saving a Georgia woman from a knife attack — while getting stabbed himself.

The pooch was named 'Hero' after the July 22 incident in Baldwin, when he lunged toward a male attacker and saved a saved the female victim.

Hero was stabbed five times and was left for dead, until a pair of police officers found him and took him to a local veterinary.… In emergency surgery, Hero died twice but pulled through despite the odds.…

He has now been adopted by Sara and David Simpson, of Tennessee — and even has two doggy friends in his new home.…

It came from the sky

Meteor, not asteroid

…Wednesday… an asteroid… which NASA discovered just two days before it happened… …passed about 25,000 miles (40,000km) from our collective home, roughly one tenth the distance between the Earth and the moon.… NASA claims it’s the closest an asteroid will come to Earth for “at least the next half century.”…

Even though they didn't even know about this one until two days before it visited? Right.

A total of seven people have now been arrested in connection with the car full of gas cylinders that was parked outside Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. Three women were arrested today, and one of the three stabbed a police officer before being shot. She is said to be the daughter of the man who owned the car loaded with gas cylinders.

In other news, the FPÖ (Austrian Freedom Party) caused controversy by proposing to celebrate the 333rd anniversary of the breaking of the Siege of Vienna on September 12th.…
