Naw, see... if my life gets a little harsher every time I turn around, the obvious solution is... to quit turning around.

It all began when I read the scripture about listening for that "still small voice behind you saying, 'this is the way.'"

So, I'd turn around to follow it, next thing you know, there's that still small voice behind me again, saying, "this is the way."

Got dizzy after a while.

I'm pretty sure I have a near-mint copy of Frammled Skyhook and the Blinker Fluids' first LP. Never saw them in concert, though.

Reducing former estimate to six out of ten.

Home, with cats, crickets, and adult beverage. Life is okay for the moment.

Although, in the larger perspective, my life seems to get a little bit harsher practically every time I turn around.

I'd wager seven out of ten Morons can tell me the obvious solution for that. (The other three don't read my comments.)

NDH #65: apparently this happened.

Daniel Horowitz Tweet:

Your GOP house in the dead of night just codified Obama's transgender edict to cut ties with contractors that dont allow men in female RRs

So glad the Tea Party got true conservatives in the majority in Congress.

Lessee now, where do I check what my congresscritter voted?

Insomniac #52: Eh. I got nothin'. Life is an endless abyss of suck. Goodnight.

Well... um...

Wishing you the swellest possible abyss of suck then, anyway, Ins.

Anna Puma #11: ...a long soak in a very warm tub of water as the thunderstorms roll in...

Um... standard pix o.i.d.h. request aside...

I recall the night lightning split a tree in Mom's back yard. I was in the tall-ceilinged living room, and perceived crackling energy in the upper part of the room, then heard Mrs Rudd, at the kitchen sink, scream. She said she saw sparks crackling across the top of the soap suds. She'd just taken her hands out of the water.

Have a nice soak...

Not only do I find it hard to read Tweets - like the page NDH linked to for Ace - but lately for some reason Twitter assumes I'm on a mobile device (I'm not) and displays mobile.twitter. Unless I have jabbascript on.

And I thought Ace gave up on Twitter. This mean he's going to be treating the blog as the poor cousin again?

The competition for first place in threads is rather juvenile, don't you think?

I will praise thee: for thou hast heard me, and art become my salvation. The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner. This is the Lord's doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.

This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. Save now, I beseech thee, O Lord: O Lord, I beseech thee, send now prosperity.

Jim: [Ringo] was GOOD. Not a "great". But very damn good, doing what he was supposed to have been doing, with the band in it's time.

As has been said...
Paul was the heart of the Beatles.
John was the mind of the Beatles.
George was the soul of the Beatles.
And Ringo... played the drums.

If only one could survive this long, I'm glad it was Ringo.

Still rumbling and blowing outside. But a bit less. Dog does not like kabooms. Needs much reassurance. Or, else, uses kabooms as an excuse to get pets. 1 or t'other.

I found a tick crawling across my shirt a minute ago. The ugly part is, that's the one I found...! (Scratches itches in various places.)

Am I entertaining enough? Through a terrible logistical miscalculation, there's no alcoholic beverages in the house, so I'm not able to judge. Decades ago, I could at least have scrounged around here and found a trace of weed left by previous occupant relative, but that's all so long gone it was a previous millennium.

Grammas on pot was funny. But, I'm boring myself. One minute more and I'm gonna log off. 60... 59... 58...

Driving home as the storms start to roll in, lots of lightning and thunder, wind picking up. Tornadoes and storms have been reported all day all around us.

So I turn on the local radio station, to find out what they have to say. Tail-end of network news talks about the tornadoes and storms. Local news report talks about dull local news stuff.

When I expect local weather... Coast-to-Coast (or whatever it's called now) theme music starts.

It shouldn't be called a broadcast medium when it's so poor.

Howdy, whoever's around.

Ono-o-o-o-o!

Bob Dylan's birthday and MisHum gives us Yoko. Cruel.

Maet is coming back, right? Right??

Howdy y'all. Taking a break from watching Glida. Rita Hayworth, Glenn Ford. They don't make movies like this anymore. They don't make Rita Hayworths and Glenn Fords anymore either. Think I'll go back to the movie instead of watching the Yoko vids.

It's almost Midnight on the mantle clock that ignores Saving Time. Gotta get to bed because, as Mama allus said, nothing good happens after Midnight. Especially true of any post-Midnight comments I might make.

I'll leave you with this:

Here's some great pix of what the Agenda21 futurists want for all human habitat.

qdpsteve: ...cool you met him...

He has eidetic memory - like photographic except with text. When we met, I was impressed that he actually recognized me from the CompuServe comic book forums. Since I can barely remember what I had for dinner, I'm envious.

You know who else we memorably met at Chicago comic con? Marginal Mad-man, and Groomeister, Sergio Aragones. Totally charming gentleman. My wife and daughter were especially (dangerously) impressed by him.

qdpsteve #362: ...newsfromme.com ...Mark Evanier

Enjoy Mark's work, from Groo to Garfield animated series to DNAgents. Met him once at Chicago comic con. Interesting guy. I followed his blog for a while, but eventually gave it up, based on the politics. But I miss his stories a lot.

Home is home, no matter how dilapidated and disheveled.

Before AOSHQ... there was a time before, wasn't there?

I remember being on CompuServe...

and then that net thing came along. I used to put content up on my own website where nobody ever ventured

...and hung out on some usenet groups...

I heard about these things called blogs long before I found any. I remember finding Hillbuzz, weirdly enough, which led to other sites...

...and then I don't remember how found AoSHQ. And as I sunk deeper and deeper into the horde, all other activities faded away...
