First comment that came to my mind, kinda obvious one, I thought, I'll bet someone's already done this.
Yup. OregonMuse @#3, no less.

Morning, Glories! Just finished reading the Vic News, lost in the clutter of the ONT after-party, and about to check out MisHum's mystery links. Meanwhile...
Repeating an item I posted in the ghost hours of the ONT:
Your "eau de irony" news for the night morning:
A rapper on Chicago's South Side was shot and killed early Tuesday morning while rapping about guns for a music video in a local park.

For many years, I had an Akai(?) reel-to-reel with auto-reverse. Put on a reel of recorded music and it would play both sides of the tape. I wonder what I ever did with that wonderful machine? Sold it in the Stressful Days, I suppose. I still have some of the tapes...
Let me tell you about my quadrophonic setup... some other day. Time to retire now. Been fun.

Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.
Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.

Hello, again, Late Night Morons.
Home late. Rain here has been gentle, not flooding as anticipated. Wet enough that the dog smells like a wet dog, though.
In my day, vinyl went from almost 78rpm-stiff to almost magazine-insert "floppy" thickness thinness. The later type seemed to degrade more quickly.
I haven't even looked at my vinyl collection in years. Most should be in good shape. I did the whole handle-by-the-edges, wipe-clean, lightweight tonearm, play-once-and-tape thing.
However...
In High School, a cousin asked to borrow some LPs for a party. When I went to retrieve them, I realized we had different philosophies about records. I think hers derived from 1950s 45RPMs. She'd stacked my LPs on the changer-spindle! There were finger smudges on the discs!! Some were still lying around, out of the sleeves, on the floor!!! A Doors album I think, and I know my then-brand-new Beatles -- Abbey Road, IIRC.
Did not ask her to buy replacements. But never lent out an LP to heathens again!

In the future, everyone will get food by manhandling restaurant managers and then stealing a handful of chicken and bacon.
So said an Oklahoma City man, 36-year-old Dante Rashad Anderson, who told police when he was arrested Friday for robbery that he comes from a time four years into the future...
Oklahoma City Police Sgt. Gary Knight:... "He was possibly under the influence of some sort of narcotic or intoxicant or suffering from some type of break with reality..."
No, d'ya think?
Bertram Cabot Jr. #129 Captain of buzzed ship said you don't get to kill people just because they annoy you.
Instead of killing 'em, can you just sorta test to see if they can land the thing with one wing blown off?

Divorcing with kids still in the home can be traumatic, and effects can be visited on several subsequent generations.
Parents suddenly divorcing when a kid never suspected they ever had anything but love for one another, then going through a terrible dragged-out legal dispute about who gets what kids, then mom remarries former uncle who is dad's worst enemy and dad remarries a black widow with three horrible offspring and mom moves you away from the only home town you've ever known and dad dies not long after that can be kinda hard, too. I imagine.
Maetenloch #13: I'm heading downstairs to go ban people. Be back shortly.
It's nice that Maet has a hobby he enjoys.

I was in a suggestion-susceptible state of mind when I encountered a sign.
I read:
Don't get distracted.
Focus on the task at hand.
And I kept reading it, and reading it, and reading it....
Mother of the year contestants.
The local burb has made wide news again with more bad parents. At least this time, all the kids live.
Four kids, ages 1, 2, 7, and 8, left home alone for hours while three moms go out and party. Kids went to a neighbor to complain they were scared. Moms said a neighbor was supposed to be sitting, but neighbor said, no.
Empty beer cans, liquor bottles and prescription drugs around the house.
And on that sour note (stares at my drained mug), I think I shall retire.
Tonight's comments brought to you by Simple Answers:

And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
qdpsteve has split, right?
I was going to suggest that it's hard to stop along the way for mini-meetups if you fly.
If I ever get the chance to do some serious traveling around again, I'd really enjoy touching base with Morons along the way.

Boston? Sheesh. I remember the name, but couldn't tell you anything they did.
Sometimes just amazed at the geezers still out there. (Much less that can afford to blow off concerts for political posturing!)
Still haven't seen a downside to these laws!!

Thanks again, Maet, for another tasty ONT.
Um... is it legal to show the whole $10 like that?
Anyway, we'll soon be going to a cashless society, so what does it matter?
