Home. Winding down. Wondering why I'm on here.

Listening to Levin's show for tonight. Describing his Early Days.

My Early Days are past.

Still feels like Today all the time.

katya: Early this evening I started seeing black floaters in my left eye.
Looked like gnats floating around. About an hour ago, I started seeing bright flashes of light. Do I go to the ER tonight or can I wait til tomorrow when I get done with work?

not a doctor. But sometimes I get crazy eyeball dysfunction after staring at computer screens all day.

I take a break. Close my eyes. Walk in nature. Look at things not digitally generated. It clears.

YMMV.

bebe's boobs destroy: ...I'm thinking sign from GOD to find a new job and GTFO ASAP. Thoughts from the horde?...

There will be many times in the future when you'll wonder, did I misread that sign?

My thought: You didn't.

Don't ignore the Almighty's big clue.

And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.

GOOOOOD EVENING, Y'all. Makes me happy to be here.

Milady and I went to see Timbuk3 at a concert in Chicago.

They had a virtual digital drummer.

That were cute otherwise, but that may have been our last "live" concert.

This Overnight Open Thread contains chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm...

It wouldn't be an ONT if it didn't.

Just finished reading Bookworm's post after her mother's death, mentioned in last night's ONT.

Sometimes it really sux that AoSHQ doesn't allow simple, ordinary linkage.

My Dad died in 1968. Mom is 95 and still in pretty good shape, physically and mentally, but 95 is 95, right?

Love the ones you have.

Evening, rhapsodic fellows. Guess I'll go home, then read the post, then see what I can get from comments...

...and, thank God for what we get.

Make America Great Again: ...I've been asking for two days now. They won't answer....

You keep saying that. I'm finally moved to reply...

Might just be you.

As I speed-scan through the comments, sometimes I see a light breaking through the fog and smoke.

The thing that drives up the cost of American goods isn't tariffs or labor. It is the excessive costs of regulations....

I wonder how that could happen. Then I look at the sig. Oh, of course!

Max Power: ...Trump vs Hillary = everyone loses!
Embrace the suck, and keep your liquor cabinet well stocked.

No, no, I predict it'll be what nobody is yet foreseeing.

Brokered Republican convention chooses neither Trump nor Cruz. Democrats avoid criminal Hillary and the ancient Commie.

Joe Biden vs Mitt Romney - an echo, not a choice!

Once again, willowed comment posted anyway.

Serious Cat: I think we need a conservative alternative to the Drudge Report....

Well... (blushing if I could), there's the Blog Heap o'Links (nic link)..

It's got three columns, just like Drudge, but isn't as clever with juxtaposed headlines, or as clean-lined. More colorful, though.

Also, it's a personal, and eclectic, selection of links; doesn't cover all the major stories... but does link to Vic's news, Political Hat News of the Week, Maggie's Farm's links, Gates of Vienna news links... and probably ought to start including MisHum's headlines.

Dead thread, but anyway...

Tim in Illinois: Stay in the shower where the water is hot and soapy.
More sanitary.

J.J. Sefton: I learned what "the Cleveland Stomp" was right here at the HQ.

And I just learned, presuming I deduced correctly, just reading that comment.

Thanks, HQ.

What is it with Cleveland, anyway?

MP4 #19 Vic News Network links start at post 482 on the ONT.

Thanks for that. Took a while to go back and plow through Vic's news.

Alas - TinyURL locks up my browser and takes a l-o-n-g time to bring up the link. Just TinyURL, no others. Wonder why. I think I spent twice as much time waiting for the Ramirez cartoons as I did looking at them.

But seriously, in my wayward yute, I once was in this nudie bar, with not many guys there, so I had a kind of private stage, watching a rather nice-looking lass wiggle and strut, as not-happy-looking as a runway model, distant and into her role.

I proceeded to tip her a $5 (I was no cheap $1 guy!) when I noticed a $50 in her collection, and I commented, "Whoa, a $50!"

She immediately dropped out of character, stopped wiggling, smiled, and became like my sister cousin or something, all personable and real, while utterly unselfconscious about her nudeness. "I know!" she exclaimed, and talked about how some guy dropped that on her.

It was funny. I never could get into the eroticism of such places because that would happen. They were all like my sister cousins.

And I do have a young first cousin once removed who was a nude dancer, before she served in the army in Korea, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Mechanic in the motor pool. Wasn't actually in combat, but faster on the draw than many of the guys. Um.. never saw her "dance."

Good night, Gracies.

Maetenloch: I was this ][ close to yanking all the videos since apparently it's stripper name night.

Not even a nibble on the G3? It's like I don't even know you people.

Now I'm off to go work on the Yoko Retrospective Week.

*Quickly turns on javascript and plug-ins and reloads the page to enjoy all the videos.*

Breezing along, sipping this wine, reading comments, when suddenly it hits me: wtf am I doing?

Am I too late with the car/stripper name?

When I was seriously younger, I went to a strip club in Tulsa once - well, not really a strip club because the laws said you couldn't disrobe, so they'd dance, duck behind a curtain, come back out with less on. Also, they never got nude because nipples and the triangle had to be covered.

But, anyway, there was this dancer I got to talking to who was kinda farm-gal muscular and had too many tattoos. Found out her name was International Harvester Travelall.

Downed my beer, skeedaddled out, and never entered a gentleman's joint again.

True story.

With javascript and plug-ins turned off in my Opera browser, no videos showed. Minimalist ONT again.

Having previously seen the old selfie shot, then, the only thing left, really, without clicking on links, was the Bookworm article - which I already have open in another tab to read tomorrow.

Thanks for the time-saver, Maet.

Good evening, folks.
