Sugar Plum Fairy: ...I think he actually got mad at me for disagreeing and also not getting upset about his idiot opinion. I didn't even call him am idiot....

On the drive home tonight, we were listening to Mark Levin and he had a caller from W Virginia. He was a sharp fellow, but, oh! what an accent! The kind that some elitists would think he was a dumb hick.

Years ago, I started keeping my "blog heap o'links" (nic link) so when I read something I liked, I could link it, and search for it again relatively easily. A public personal bookmarks page.

Sometimes I read something and blog it.

But sometimes I read something I wish I had blogged, but I can maybe search my history and find it.

However, sometimes I read something in the newsfeed itself, not opening the page, and that doesn't get into the browser history. I think this last happened today. Or was it yesterday?

Anyway, I read somebody's blog post about someone who had a friend, from England, who moved to DC, and made friends with inside-the-beltway folks.

Then, he told them he was going to buy a house in (I think) W Virginia, and his elitist friends were saying things like, why would you move among those gap-toothed, shotgun-shooting, cousin-humping -- etc. -- people??

He was amazed, because the nobility in England didn't hold the ordinary folk in such disdain. (Which fits the description I recently read in Washington's Irving's Sketchbook. New-rich might have snobby attitudes, but not the true nobility.)

He moved, and of course found his neighbors to be salt of the earth folks.

Wish I could spirit up that post. That's the problem with subscribing to dozens and dozens of sites and reading hundreds of feed items a day... and not blogging one.

HI! HI! HI! HI!

How to Talk About the New Ghostbusters Movie...

Recently watched Ghostbusters again. Still great. Not Blues Brothers great, but great.

So, tonight, in honor of the new gals trailer, we started watching GB2. Unfortunately, we had a bad copy, and only got up to the river of slime. Re-copying, but it'll take a while. Just as well. It's late and we need to go home, not watch the inferior sequel.

Just caught a minute or two of the debate tonight, but it was Ted sounding good and getting applause no less even from the stacked audience. That's all I needed.

They put in the new Schmardt 'Lectric Meter on the office today, without telling us they were going to. By chance, we were late on a payment so they shut us off at the same time.

Which was actually fortunate, because that way we found out they installed the meter wrong, because some parts of the building are still live! Hoping the place doesn't burn up before they get back to (theoretically) fix things tomorrow.

Hoping the place doesn't burn up before then.

I think they send the "B" team to install these things.

With some extension cords and appliance shuffling, we were able to power the computers, the modem and router, and grill some burgers for dinner.

And, presuming this smidgen of usage was off-meter, the price was right. Shh.

Gonna go home, read the post, maybe check back in later. Say hi to me now anyway. Or please clap.

Ace: Did Romney give his largely ineffectual speech for a hidden purpose?

Surely, in 700 comments, someone has noted...

Yes. He's putting himself out there again so he can be the star selected in the brokered convention.

(In a quick scan of comments, I saw the Romney brokered convention possibility mentioned, but not directly in answer to Ace's question.)

BurtTC: The problem Cruz has of course, is likability. Everyone can see that, whether they want to admit it or not.

Odd. I must be blind or in de nile. No matter how loud and long the weird hairpiece with the fifth-grader vocabulary and manners shouts that "nobody likes him," I don't see it. Of course me & my neighbors all liked him enough to hand him a win in this state.

Oh, well, unless you mean how lots of RINOs don't like Cruz for reasons similar to why they don't like Drumpf, or how the atheist left doesn't like him because religiosity, but those just make him more likable in my book (like how I liked der Donald because the enemy hated him back when he seemed bold and solid on issues like immigration).
