Holy cow, cthululu, old chum. Wish I was awake enough to even parse that wall of words, much less make sense of it. Looks vaguely familiar, though....

Must be my cue to fade away.

Carry on my wayward sons.
The'll be peace when we are done.

Surely it was Andrew's ticker.

And not that dinner with Bill Ayers....

* cue suspense chord *

Ah, home. Late. But Home.

Shoes and socks off is a good start. *wiggles toes*

Beverage taking the edge off the day.

Milady made a bunch of chocolate chocolate chip cookies today, so I know what I'll have with my morning coffee.

Cruz took Oklahoma.

Dog and all cats accounted for.

Temperatures below freezing but with a shift of the wind to out of the South, actually rising overnight to a high in the sixties tomorrow. March is coming in like a bobcat.

Not a bad start for a new month.

And overnight threaders to lurk on and laugh at.

I'm good, for the moment.

Did I not say Cruz would take Oklahoma?

And, proud to say, our family did our part to make it happen! As did our auto mechanic.

Take that, RINO Senators for Rubio, Inhofe and Lankford, and you, too, RINO former Senator Tom Coburn for Rubio! These guys do not represent us!

Oklahoma and oh yeah Texas, too - where American constitutionalism survives.

Of course, we'll be in big trouble when President Trump takes office, but we're used to that with TFG.

And what, exactly, is the deal with Minnesota?

Well, it's that time, folks. Off to the polling place to do our civic dooty.

As if it mattered.

Sherry McEvil: ...The surgery portion went very well....

Glad to hear it, and glad for your report, neighbor.

Praise the Lord.

Morning, glorious fellow citizens and sundry!

My day's just starting, and I'm hundreds of comments and a handful of headlines behind. (Puts on speed-reader helmet.)

I didn't exactly vote early, at least, haven't voted yet.

Maybe I can make up for it by voting often?

Is the opposite of a precinct a postcinct?

We moved the family from Chicago to Oklahoma with some thoughts of better surviving the possible coming collapse.

All the things I had in mind to prepare? Unrealized.

Only thing we did right was move from Chicago to Oklahoma. Which, actually, was good all around.

I think I'll brush my teeth and crawl in bed now.

Sweet dreams, y'all.

Religion, the conviction-faith of the personality, can always triumph over the superficially contradictory logic of despair born in the unbelieving material mind. There really is a true and genuine inner voice, that "true light which lights every man who comes into the world."

Saw there were a lot of comments to get caught up on... but fortunately, what with my brain being in "retiring" mode, I could skip all the deflation discussion.

rickl: Phrasing?

Um... yeah. Well, now I'm home where I can remove my pants, put my feet up, and enjoy a zesty beverage.

Tomorrow! I go forth and cast my ballot into the barrel, as if democracy actually worked, yet knowing the outcome already and it won't be he for whom I will vote.

But it makes me feel all warm and patrioticalish for a moment, anyway, interacting with the nice ladies who run things.

Then I'll need to re-read the happiness thread....

Time for me to go home where I can remove the pants and fill the mug. If I come back, say hello. If I don't, don't say hello.

What Kind of Monsters Would Name Their Son Stacy...

Surely it's already been said...

...Well, he must o' thought that is quite a joke
And it got a lot of laughs from a' lots of folk
It seems I had to fight my whole life through
Some gal would giggle and I'd get red
And some guy'd laugh and I'd bust his head,
I tell ya, life ain't easy for a boy named Sue Stacy...

Been reading the comments off-and-on while doing other things. Up to #350 so far. Gonna stick with it, even if the horde and posts have moved on, 'til I get to the bottom. It's therapeutic, to be sure.

Got a bowl of vanilla ice cream. Happiness in the mouth.

Thanks to LizLem at February 29, 2016 06:01 PM for the Robt Downey story. Happiness went both ways, it seems, for what he did for the grandmother, and what the granddaughter did for him.

Becky: This early Springtime is making me happy! It's glorious outside in Oklahoma!!! But, as Oklahoma weather tends to be fickle and frankly ridiculous, I fully expect a full-on blizzard in July.

Sure has been great! Sure, Oklahoma being what it is, we could get six weeks of arctic blast, but I'm thinking, even if we do get some late wintry blast, it won't last.

The dog has been coming to the door and whining like he usually does to get it, or nudges the door open if I've left it ajar - but he doesn't come in. He just stands out there, staring at me. I'm thinking, he's trying to say, hey, humans, come outside and play!!

And he's right.

Oy! Really?

Is this supposed to be ironic, being on a Monday? Isn't this "weekend" material?

Other than the weekend, which is already crowded with good stuff like books and food and gardening and pets, I usually don't have time for participating in midday threads. ... I suppose that might make some folks happy...

This concerns me. What are the rules? Would snarky, cynical, or ironic humor count as happiness? And dirty joking and sexual innuendo, lotsa folks find "happiness" in that (but it's mostly Overnight Thread material)? And what about puns, which make people snort or groan, as a rule, not laugh out loud. This all just seems so... out of place with the usual mood of the AoS locker room.

Which, of course, is why FenelonSpoke has it here, right? Right.

Wait, is my comment "grousing and grumping and grouching"? Would hate to be banned from the happiness thread!!

Well, okay, we'll see how this works out.

Putting on my happy face.

Please don't take my above attempt at silliness seriously!

Here's something that makes me happy. More magnificent photos c/o BlazingCatFur (note that these pages expire after a week - probably because of photo copyrights).

OregonMuse: If Obama spied on my church, the only thing he'd find out is that pretty much all of us in the congregation think he's a crappy president.

Not an "Evangelical Christian" myself (despite my evangelizing for that fellow Jesus), but I had to laugh at the thought of "spying" on their churches.

I imagine a "spy" walking in, to open arms and words of welcome, and invitations to participate in everything.

"So, where do you keep the hidden guns and bombs?"

"When are the secret sermons about killing non-Evangelicals?"

Now, the Catholics, that's a different thing.

"Whattaya mean, I can't take part in the communion??"

"The Vatican is trying to trying to make the Pope king of the world, isn't it?!"

Obvious terrorists.

Beautiful weather lately here in NE Oklahoma. Looks like March will come in like a lamb. Does that mean it will go out like a lion?

Speaking of lyin'... Our polling place has moved from the church on top of the hill to that modern-like church off the other side of the highway. Better in/out access, I guess, but I liked the old place.

Tomorrow Milady and I will cast our meaningless votes into the political barrel. (Looking for large clothespins for the noses right now.) Presumably, once again I'll be able to say I voted for the guy who didn't win.
