Tried something different for a nightcap tonight. A little bit of milk (almond, not cow) warmed up. Added a dollop of hazlenut spread Milady bought to cook into ebleskeivers. Add brandy.

Dangerous desserty drink.

When we were kids and the families & friends would go to the lake, all the cereal was those variety packs, one-serving boxes. Just open the box along the perforations, fold out the doors, pour in the milk, and eat. Throw away the box.

...4K on a TRS-80 with Level I BASIC...

My first computer. Siigh.

Kept that thing going, with upgrades, 'til I finally got a PC-AT. Still have two TRS-80s in the catacombs. Bet I could cobble one out of the two of them, but I don't know if any of the disk drives still work.

I knew those machines inside and out. (Of course, there wasn't that much to know...!) A favorite moment: being horrified at breaking a leggie off a chip, then soldering on a tiny piece of wire in its place, and plugging it in... and it worked! Try doing that on your modern computer!

Well, read the first 200 comments and the last part of the thread so far. Can't figure out what pushed comments up to 1000, other than lack of post content.

Do I want to know? Doesn't seem to be going too fast now. Glad I seem to have missed the rush. Just hanging out with the hardcore late night crowd.

Just what I needed to find after spending half a day trying to get the internet and the intranet to talk to one another.

I think the wireless router may need replacing. Alas, another expense to add to a long list recently.

Called the cable company just to have them verify that the modem looked like it was good on their end. The service guy said the modem was working but the router needed this and that reset.

After not being able to figure out what he had told us, called cable company back and that led to the best line of the day:

I'm enjoying the show - Capt Cold chewing the scenery especially.

Sometimes, I think the team-ups that seem based just on similar names are a bit lame in the premise, but you make them work. Rock & Rocketeer worked out nicely.
