Hi. I got home, wanted to report on how Fox radio news just skipped mention of Cruz in their Nevada coverage, saw the Ace thread and left my report there, then ran through the comments... and wished I'd been over here, whatever's been going on here.
Hi. Just walked in from driving home, listening to Fox radio news report, Midnight Central Time.
Trump wins. Blaring quote from the loudmouth about winning 40-something percent of the Mexican vote. God, I don't think I could take four years of that guy.
Rubio a solid second. Some blather about Rubio's people staying in and thinking he can still make it.
Then, the percentages on Carson and Kasick.
Um...
Can someone please tell me when Cruz dropped out?
Fox News - unfairly unbalanced!
What causes problems with invasion/immigration is complex and compound. Welfare state, minimum wage, business over-regulation, work visa and visitor visa unfairness and enforcement or lack thereof, failing e-verify, on and on. The whole tangle of socialist influence, largely.
But to look at just one select angle...
In the latest Intellectual Froglegs video, Joe Dan had two clips, one of Cruz, one of his boy Trump, asked the same question, would you deport parents of anchor babies (been a few days since I watched it, but I think I have this right).
Cruz did not answer directly - talked about various approaches to handling the matter of invaders/immigrants generally. Trump outright answered, yes, deport them. Joe Dan, sadly, was giddy over this. (I like Joe Dan, but....)
Well, that looks simple on the surface, but...
If you have immigrants naturalized, their under-age kids, presumably, become citizens, right? But, if you have under-age kids naturalized, that doesn't reflect back up to the parents. So, there's a real problem created there, with parents who ought to be deported, but the baby can stay.
Whhaat?
So, the whole anchor-baby law is a snake pit that should never have been dug, but it is the law, it seems. What can be done now, about not breaking up families but not deporting child-citizens?
I've got no answer. Just acknowledging the mess, and wondering what the brainiacs here think.
No wonder Cruz didn't want to step into that crap trap.

For many years, off and on, I've been bookmarking links, mostly political but could be anything linkable - on my "blog heap o'links" page (yeah, stuck myself with that dumb name long ago - link in nic).
Basically, nobody goes there, and that's fine, because I just did it so I could easily re-find things I liked. It's not all the latest news or anything - but I do link to Vic, Political Hat, Gates of Vienna and other sites that keep up with the current.
Well, the other day I emailed BlazingCatFur that I liked the photos they publish, and in passing as a courtesy mentioned that I frequently link or h/t BCF stories.
Lo and b'hold, BCF linked to the blog-heap in a post. Looking at the stats, my hits spiked majorly after that... for one day only, as such things go.
Had to happen during a few days when I've not had a lot of time to post things, wouldn'tcha know.

Much to my surprise, I finally got caught up, and there's no nood yet.
Helped a lot that there were so many irregulars whose comments I could breeze past. Quality of commentary is still high, just diluted.

Gaah. 100 comments here, and I'm barely past 100 in the last thread. Maybe if I start on the last comment here and read backward... or read every other comment... or just give up...‽
I think what the watchman there has is an earhorn. Not the best guy to have on patrol - his eyesight's poor, too, but, you know, government position.
And that little dog sure did let loose a big puddle!

Disturbing thing about Vic's news at the end of the ONT, especially if I come in late like this morning, is that it's too late to comment in the same thread.
Morning thread, Vic's news, JJ's countdown, MP4's racy pix or stories - that's the way the world's supposed to start the day. 
Guess it's a good time to go feed the pets before they start gnawing on my ankles.
