Well, had time to peruse the post, anyway.

CIA Director John Brennan said diversity and inclusion are "at the heart" of what the intelligence service is "charged to do."

Oh, really?

And NASA's mission is to bring Muslims out of the pre-technological past, or something.

And the EPA's job is to manage every puddle in your yard.

And so on.

The term "mission drift" comes to mind.... if by "drift" we mean "hellaciously off-course and heading for an iceberg."

In under - or close to - 100.

But, I'm watching superhero teevee, so I'm not really here yet. Just on break.

About the weed being stronger nowadays.

I wonder. Back in the day, and I mean 'way back in the day, there was a *lot* of ditch weed. Medium level was the Mexican choking hazard, sometimes good, often terrible. The "good stuff" was harsh ol' Columbian.

Well, I was "fortunate" enough at times to try Jamaican Red (pretty), Thai Sticks (tasty), and other really good stuff. Black Afghani finger hash (fortunately for me, only available once).

At one point, I got some real Acapulco Gold that was better than anything else I'd ever tried... but at the same time got some "Brazilian" that made the Gold seem like ditch weed -- literally one (large) bowl had half a dozen people who had been sitting on the floor in a circle passed out on our backs, with the bowl unfinished. And these were not newbies but hearty used-to-it smokers.

So, it's probably greater availability and cultivation of the best stuff now.

Not proud or ashamed of the usage - I survived it with no more damage than most of you alkies.

Hard to beat "One toke over the line sweet Jesus" on the Lawrence Welk show. (It's on YouTube.)

Dropped a tl;dr bomb for the previous thread. Just in time to be willowed. Whew! Thanks, RDB! Close one.

Just think of that poor woman, sitting there, holding that cold cup of tea, staring at that same spot in the newspaper, while Bill plies his brushes.

There is a perfect universe, the eternal Heaven.

There, no one doubts the Father's existence because his presence is felt everywhere.

There, no immortal had to learn from experience because they are existential -- eternal.

No one had to learn from trial and error. No one is challenged by the partiality of creation or the antagonisms of others. No one ever suffered and died. No father of lies ever led angels and men astray from the truth.

That's one universe.

Ours is another, the universe of time and space, of experience and evolution, of learning and the necessity of faith.

We can't really comprehend those eternals or their universe. We may sometimes be aggravated, even depressed, by the challenges of this life, but the description of their existential lives seems almost boring and even mechanical and uninspiring.

Likewise, to those eternal beings, our mortality, partiality, and imperfection, yes, our very aggravation and depression, must seem incredible, nigh-impossible within the perfection of the Almighty.

When we meet, when we get to that heaven, when they visit "out here," we kind-of sort-of get to know each other's universes a little better. But, possibly, like man and woman, we can never fully comprehend each other.

There is even another layer of reality, neither infinite and eternal nor space-bound and finite, but transcendently in-between. But never mind that for now. ;-)

Why? Why not all perfection like the eternal universe?

In part, as much as we can comprehend it, because God the Eternally Perfect could not suffer, doubt himself, fail, err, or die. At least, not in God's eternal form. But just as we "live, move, breathe, and take our being" in God, so in a sense is God able to do the impossible, in spirit, through our experience. We are, so to speak, the rock God made bigger than he could lift.

It's complicated. It's a gift God & we give each other.

But beautiful, true, and, ultimately, good.

NotCoach: Your vague descriptors make me click more links.

Although I complimented MisHum on the humor of his vague links, I really would prefer more information, from MH, from BenK, even Vic and various other commenters. I'm just sparing about clicking away, jealous of my time.

Grateful, as I said (yesterday?), that I'm on the tablet where I can hover over a link to at least read what it says, and not stuck on the cell where I have to click the link to find out what's in it.

Peloisi-links!

I will say, MisHum doesn't seem to go to the same three or four sites over and over like BenK...

Ed Schultz - Milady suggests instead of callling his pathetic effort a "superPAC," it should be called a sub-comPAC.

Been reading her too many of Muldoon's comments.

MisHum, your "headlines" aren't even as scrutible as BenK's... but I gotta admit, they can be more amusing!

Pyrocles: Isn't that why the Democrats are now the permanent "blue" party? They want to hide their Communist ties as much as possible.

The ol' red-blue switcheroo was set years ago. I refuse to use, and regularly discourage, "red state/blue state" type usage for that reason. Even the Matrix pills reflected this backwardness. It's the "red" pill keeps folks in the fabricated virtual reality.

Gift for 3yo?

Anything that makes lots of noise. Like the "stoplight" Gramma got our kids one year. Had a motion sensor and a siren so it could be used for playing red-light green-light. Funny - when it ran out of batteries, we could never find any replacements for those rare "D" cells.

Oh, it's your own kid? Never miiiiiiiind.

The hilarity of this commenting system:

I got a rock. They told me to pretend it was a big cardboard box. I started to cry. They beat me and called me an ungrateful little shit.

Immediately followed by:

Boy, did that bring back long forgotten memories of happier days!

No relation, just amusing juxtaposition.

Hrothgar: I understand the point, but I note that Trump is not the Pope when he makes such comments, nor does Trump have status in any theological hierarchy.

Sure. I was just saying, Tromp's comments have been kind-of akin to the Poop's.

In reply to the Pope, Trump said the Pope would be glad if Trump were Prez, to protect the world from Muz Extremists.

I could not find anywhere in Trump's reply any direct rebuttal - such as a suggestion that he is a Christian.

Which is fine. I've been told I'm not a Christian, and I always say I leave it up to Christ. And anyone can say they're a Christian, even the Imam in the White House.

Jus' sayin'.

FenelonSpoke: O.K. I think it's rather silly to talk about was in the Vatican-Walls that have been there for hundreds of years...."

Really? Lots of commenters and cartoonists disagree with you on that one, FS - including myself.

Islamic terrorist standing outside Vatican barrier: "Meester Pope, tear down this wall!"

I don't see why the age of the wall has anything to do with it. Frankie basically wants open borders for the New World Order (heedless of consequences, just like all leftists) and lives behind a wall at home just like anti-gun politicians are surrounded by armed guards.

Hypocrisy - you should find his picture next to the word in the dictionary.

I'll say this for the commie Pope - he's a real miracle worker!

I never thought Rubio, Jeb!, Trump, and I would be united in anything, but we are - regarding his daring to criticize Trump as not-Christian.

(Which is not to say anything pro-Trump's religion, after he's criticized the faith of Carson and of Cruz!)
