Mornin', Ace!
Anybody else say "tl;dr" yet?
tl;dr
I was going to say we got to over 200 comments without a mention of Trump or Cruz, but a search shows that Trump was mentioned before that. In one of those tl;dr treatises by Illiniwek - which is why I missed it. ![]()
Turd Ferguson: "war-grade weapons" ... That's a pretty broad category.
Yeah. But, I'd say, when mosques are serving as armories, every weapon in them is "war-grade."
"We are not at war with Islam" does not mean they aren't at war with us.
Meanwhile, in real life...
The French are raiding mosques and not liking what they are finding: hundreds of war-grade weapons and large quantities of Kalashnikov ammunition. French interior minister Cazeneuve reported, "In 15 days we have seized one third of the quantity of war-grade weapons that are normally seized in a year." "...between 100 and 160 mosques will be closed." ...In addition, 2,235 Muslim businesses and homes have been searched. There have been 232 arrests....
But of course in America, surveillance of mosques was terminated because of President Stands with Muslims.
FOX offers sitcom about Middle Eastern family in the U.S.
The other day I mentioned the Canadian series "Little Mosque on the Prairie" from several years back. I'll just quote my own comment:
Canadian sitcom about a small-town mosque with a new, hip, liberal imam. Ha-has included the old hard-core guy on the no-fly list. Sincere eps included young girl debating wearing the head scarf. Nice romantic thread with the young imam. Watched the entire first season, changes in the 2nd left us cold.
Total fantasy propaganda, really. If only most mosques were really like that, it would be a religion of peace.
"Are there alternative choices, please?"
Martin O'Malley: *waves*
No, other than the chicken farm.
Martin Johnson Heade, "The Great Florida Marsh" (1886)
Strangely, Heade died that year of malaria.

This artwork is far too small, and nowhere near up to the new standard set last night by Maet - the pictorial equivalent of an Ace movie review.
mustbequantum: I'd rather live next to a pig or chicken farm than a swamp.
Boy, talk about a close contest. That's like choosing between Hillary or Bernie!
"Are there alternative choices, please?"
I opened this morning griping about my lower back hurting. So as the thread ends, I thought I'd report... Milady gave me a bit of massage (before drifting back to sleep), I took some Arnica, and took a walk around the yard. Not all better, but much better with good prospects for being fine by the end of the day. Until the next thing goes wrong.

The roses Milady received for our anniversary on the 5th still look good.
Should I wrap them up again and give them to her for Valentine's or can I just leave them in the vase?

Bruce w/aW: Gas in LA is still around 2.89999999/gal.
grammie winger: $1.24 here in SE Wisconsin.
Saw a headline yesterday saying it's "unlikely" that gas here in Oklahoma will actually go below $1.00.

I'm kind-of reading current comments while catching up on earlier ones. Just ran across this:
Seamus Muldoon #94: And that's why I don't hang out here much these days. Later.
Maybe.
Don't know what Seamus referred to, and have to wonder what (of many ugly things) would drive him off. Not good.
phoenixgirl: ...trump "repeated" the word....i'm sure he enjoyed "repeating" the word....but i wouldn't say trump called him a pussy.....and i wouldn't call the word pussy profane........
Unless you're talking about cats, it's a cussword. Profane? Well, in common parlance, "profane" is generic for cusswords. Trump did call Cruz that by repeating it. It's the old "saying by not saying" ploy. He could have just left it alone, but he made a big deal out of repeating it.
Just like he mouthed the f' word and then complained when Fox bleeped it making it seem like he said it. He said it, just like I just did.
It's one thing I really detest about the foulmouth. I don't know if he is really just a guttermouth, or thinks it gives him some kind of common-man appeal, but it's distasteful.
But I'm very old school, and think people should be ladies and gentlemen in speech, especially in public and especially if you're looking for votes, much less when you're talking about your political opponents. I don't use such language myself. That's why I think Trump's an asshole.
:O
Bandersnatch: One of my headlights is out, low beam only. Where's a good place to get that replaced?
Sears, down at the mall. Ask for Drew, and tell 'im I sent you.
FenelonSpoke: Maybe go get it checked out?
ugg boots: Yeah, you better look up the symptoms of rocky mountain spotted fever, just to be safe. Had a neighbor at the Jersey shore who died of it. Healthy one day, sick the next, dead the third day.
artisanal 'ette: If it's unusual, go see a doctor today.
Heh, thanks folks. I've endured ticks before. I know what they carry can be deadly, but I don't believe I'm going to die this week.
Unless maybe if I see a doctor. They're dangerous.
Seriously, appreciate your conccerns, but I'm actually mostly better than yesterday. Sorry if I sounded doomish.
Just finished the Vic News Roundup. Thanks, Vic.
I somehow managed to not pack up my tablet to bring home last night. Using Milady's instead this morning. But, it's the browser on my tablet that has all my regular newsfeeds. I feel disconnected... aside from Vic's report. I am a creature of habit.
Morning, content providers!
Yesterday I was stiff & sore a lot. This morning it all seems to have settled in my lower back. I'm gettting creaking old, but this is unusual for me, and I wonder if it has something to do with the tick I pulled out of my armpit several days ago. Man, I hate bloodsuckers!
Joys of country livin'.
And how's your day going?
