Well, l've had enought talking to myself tonight.

Why do you say talking to yourself?

Because I write and nobody responds.

I'm responding. Others are busy reading, praying, making their own comments, but somebody probably read yours.

I think I'm going crazy, developing multiple personalities!

What makes you think you have any personality?

Oh, very funny. Now I'm insulting myself.

Which self is you, though?

Arrgh! Let go of me! I've got to go!

* slap! * * kick * * throws ashtray *

Let go of my keyboard!

Scrolling through the comments at high speed because I couldn't stop after scrolling through long cat, I thought I saw a couple comments about jumping across the table to strangle somebody in court? I feels that!

Decades ago, our (failed) business's landlord sued us for back rent, which we agreed to, but he kept tacking on damages, until it amounted to a quarter million, then the first thing they did in court was double that.

Our ass was covered all the way. And we had a great lawyer.

Landlord said, we did this thing that caused extensive damage (we proved it didn't) without permission. We pulled out the doc where he had given us written permission. He looked shocked that we had the paper proof.

Landlord said, we did this other thing that caused extensive damage (a little bit, not extensive) without permission, and we pulled out another doc where he had given us written permission.

On the witness stand, he looks at the second doc, and slowly says, "Welllll, it looks like my signature...."

At the implication we had forged his sig, when in truth he had just been proved a liar for a second time, our lawyer had to push me back down in my chair.

We "lost," ultimately, to the amount we'd agreed to before the whole lawsuit started. Plus more than two years hung up and lawyer costs.

Gratifying to know that old con artist must long since be worm food.

But, it was classic, Maet.

Told Milady, you have to see the ONT. She sat at her computer, loaded the comments page, and began scrolling...

Eventually, she exclaimed, "That was a great use of a web page!"

Yeah, I guess long cat wasn't Maet's work (right?), but it was a work. The only thing I've ever seen like that was by XKCD.

Sigh! You know, I answered RWC's "challenge," saying I thought that was the minority view, and praising the smörgåsbord of Maetly offerings in the (usual) ONTs.

Do you react to that?? Noo-ooo! You gotta reward the critics... and encourage the Yoko baiters. Sheesh!

Been thinking, though, since I spend an inordinate amount of time reading this blog and its comments... what would an ordinate amount of time be?

Yello, Overnightlies.

OregonMuse: I predicted we'd crack 1200 on this thread. Looks like I'm going to be right.

And I thought, nawww. Looks like I'm going to be wrong.

EPA on gas cans and so much else.

Just watched Ghostbusters again night before last.

Let me remind you who released all the ghosts in the containment facility, which unleashed Gozar upon the city...

That's right...

Dickless of the EPA!

I see between my writing back at 750 and ending up posting at #930, my snarky inquiry was covered.

Think I'll go read a book.

OregonMuse: I sense another "big thread" happening.

Did you cheat and look in the queue?

Still just this ol' thread, after my break for a delicious lunch. Going for #1000 again?

I sense... a new thread coming soon.

I smell... Milady preparing lunch.

I think... I'll see you all later.

RickZ: ...You are a moron, and not the good kind....

Clearly, it's intended as verboten (or, at least, discouraged) ad hominem - still, calling a commenter here a moron is debatably funny. Or ironic. Or something.

Lots of news and blog sites noting that Christie may be dropping out.

Sure hope the Cruz folks don't put out a tweet about that!

Just occurred to me...

Haven't liked hearing Trump talking about how he could "make deals" with the Dems.

But, I just thought, for a wheeler dealer like Trump, "making deals" means getting his way.

Like "Religion of Peace" means "Keel all infidels, then we have peace."

(Trying to look for a bright side)

RWC: Had to look up Vermin Supreme.
Alrighty then

Oh! I had just been assuming it was a nickname for one of the candidates that I wasn't getting, like Cankles, or TFG hugger, or Mulchman.

The painting is one of those 3D illusions.

Are commenters more prolific lately or am I reading more slowly? Or what? Almost impossible to keep up.

Harking back to a (sub?)thread in the last thread...

Decades ago, Milady and I were four-wheeling through the woods high above Pecos, New Mexico. Suddenly, a wild turkey flew across right in front of our windshield.

First thought was, wow, that looks just like in the ads.

Second thought was, yeah, I could see trying to bring that down for dinner if I up here hungry.

But domesticated can't fly well, if at all, and it's just sad beyond measure to think that anyone ever saw the WKRP episode and thought they were throwing frozen turkeys!

Because, it's all nuts anyway.

Don't worry. "Bravesirrobined" will never replace "willowed."
