Laurie David's Cervix : Nixon's legacy isn't Watergate, it's the EPA.
Federally mandated affirmative action.
Fiat currency -- and some ugly Eisenhower kids.

ThePrimordialOrderedPair: ...Further, the most fortunate (richest and freest) blacks in the world are those whose ancestors were brought to America.... As a Jew, I'm glad that my ancestors were driven out of Russia - to America -by the pogroms.....
Heh. Reminds me of the AmerInds shunted to Oklahoma. Trail of Tears was horrid, but the 21st Century Oklahoma AmerInd is in pretty good shape - especially the Osages after Frank "66" Phillips made them rich.
I think that's the first time I've actually read all the way through one of Illiniwek's treatises. Pays to be 1st.
BeckoningChasm: Ace works fine in Brave...
Glad you brought that forward, 'cause... I've had the Brave site tab open for a while and have been meaning to check it out. I've been using Opera exclusively forever, but disappointed since they changed after v12. So I've been thinking about trying Brave.
Can you easily set it to have bells & whistles on trusted sites? Import bookmarks okay? And the other questions I'd ask if I thought a minute?
This place is a terrible influence.
I've got an increasing desire to go into town and have a Sonic chili dog and tots for lunch.
Seamus Muldoon: He chose that major because he liked working with baby dogs. Six semesters in he still hasn't figured out his initial mistake.
Hey! That was more subtle than your usual. I like it. (Not being catty about your usual.)
I was all set to tell this funny story about the time my wife met Joan Baez in a bar in Chicago.
Then I remembered it was Buffy StMarie (I think).
And it wasn't that funny. You had to be there.
Oh, well.
I stop to watch a video and make a comment about it and y'all leave me behind. Is this any way to run a blog?
Guess so.
My heavens! That Moms Demand ad was stupid from start to finish, but especially finish.
OTOH, good. Wouldn't want to be in a restaurant with such a bizarre group of bad actors, anyway.
At the place we sometimes breakfast, there's often a fellow at the counter with a holstered pistol on his hip. I always think, in case of problems, I'm glad he's there! Unfortunate, though, that if you're sitting at the counter, you've got your back to the door...
AltonJackson: Mary Cloggenstein...
Riiiight. Whew! Thanks, AJ! I've had a cuppa and still couldn't think of it. That brain cell just wouldn't activate this morning, apparently.
I've always wondered, but today's comment made me finally sure. Begonia is the Republican doppleganger of - that gal from the Vermont Women's Reproductive Health Center and just as real. (Dang, I'll think of "her" name as soon as I hit post.)
* ah! coffee's done! *
The caucus means nothing. Crump and Truz mean nothing. Rubio means nothing.
The really important thing is...
Jeb is still in the race.
And he saw his shadow today.
New post and twenty-five comments while I'm trying to figure out the previous thread. Hm. Gonna be that kind of day, eh?
Morning, Glories!
Just got up, and expected a morning thread
Found a two a.m. post by Ace instead
So no doubt I'm confused and a little bit slow
I don't get what's up with those twit pictures, though.
I see some kid with something on his face? What?
* going to make coffee and slap myself awake *
Just watched Trump's concession speech. Seemed subdued (for Trump) and respectful. Tolearable.
Which is nice to see.
Haven't seen Cruz's. It'll have to wait 'til tomorrow. 'Cause I'm done with today.
Good night, Gracies. In all the razzledazzel of the election, remember the important AoSHQ topics... booze, boobies, and boomsticks.
And in other current news...
there is no other current news.
I'm hearing thunder. Gotta go home and let the cats in. L8r.
Captain Whitebread: Just got word that my car was totalled (I was in an accident a little over a week ago)
Geez, Captain. Presume & hope you're okay.
Back long ago in the stoned age, my buddy and I went to see The Stewardesses in 3-D in the theater. (Seems t'me we were a bit young, but we got in with no problem.) The theater was packed, everyone wearing those paper frame glasses, and for quite some way into the movie, it was pretty quiet, as if it were a bunch of serious adults watching a serious film.
Then, at some point, the exaggerated 3-D effects - might have been where a stew was poking a pool cue toward the camera, my buddy guffawed. Very shortly, the whole crowd was laughing uproariously through the rest of the stupid thing.
I think that's the only 3-D movie I ever saw. Don't remember anything about it except the pool cue thing. And the laughter.
Cruz... just as I predicted. (Y'all remember I predicted that, right?)
Evening, Overnighters.
