My nightcap mug is empty. My wits are halved. Just dropped in to drop out.
One year tomorrow until there would have been a new President if it hadn't been for that unfortunate thing...
Good night, Gracies!

navybrat: Afer today we may as well get used to the idea of a Democrat president in 2016.
Mission accomplished!

Time to pack up the tablet and change locations and IPs, but before I do, here's a comment I left on another forum earlier tonight. Of course, on that forum, I could link to the tweets, but I'm too lazy to bit.ly them for Pixy tonight:

I don't get thrills (up my leg or otherwise) as a rule, especially about matters political, but I genuinely got a thrill years ago when I ran across a photo, at that biker's rally in DC I think, of Sarah Palin shaking hands with Allen West. It was just an electric moment, and it was really about then I started taking politics seriously again.
Some of "the thrill is gone" on both those folks. West for his support of the black farmers scam and weak walk-back of it. And Palin, well, I just wish she hadn't chosen between Cruz and Trump, really. Bristol had some snark in response to Rick Tyler's statement, and Sarah, sad to say, linking to Bristol, chimed in with "Is THIS Why People Don't like Cruz?" but at least Cruz himself stayed classy:
"I love @SarahPalinUSA Without her support, I wouldn't be in the Senate. Regardless of what she does in 2016, I will always be a big fan."
I'm not a big fan of anybody - wish we could merge the better parts of Trump and Cruz and cull the worse parts, but I'll hold my nose and vote GOP - again - because, anyone but those commies.
God bless and save the USA.
And, that house in the Motorola ad... wasn't that the place in North by Northwest?

Jane D'oh: ...freaking the fuck out... more worried now over the war-torn neighborhood son lives in now, than when he was nearly killed in Afghanistan.
Jane D'oh: ...when husband and I are in S. Africa in March....
So, turnabout, then son can freak out about you?
Jane D'oh: If, however, we need assistance of a certain kind, would you and AtC be so kind as to provide a raptor or three to assist us?
When seconds count, raptors are only 5000 miles away...?

couples who eloped (just the couple at the wedding) were 12.5x more likely to end up divorced
Milady and I have always been exceptional, as opposed to being the rule, I mean.
After several years of living in sin cohabitation, we just agreed to make it official. Changed my will, and started holding ourselves forth as married, per Oklahoma common law. Our ceremony was, our lawyer treated us to lunch.
I'm not proud of it, and regret it in some ways, but we felt somewhat estranged from family at the time, relatively friendless, and had just recovered from some terrible experiences together, so, it seemed right.
And that was thirty-six years ago.
Married before we had kids, at least.
My mother-in-law, years later, said to my mother, it took her a while to realize, that isn't how most people in Oklahoma did it.

What? Where the video at? I ain' see no videos! What's all them words for?
Evening, Overnighters! Now to go back and read some of them words...
I don't give a d@mn what the Leftoids think, and don't read comment sections where they congregate - more dirty work you do for us, Pete. But, I'm glad to know she's still living rent-free in their heads.
Milady Webworker read your comment, and to "I'm sure you can imagine what happened next," she said, "Oscar and Figaro got you back for leaving them in the hall!" Right?
I don't usually have serious memory problems (yet… um… that I remember), but there was one night a few months ago, we got home, and whatever we were talking about or doing, I completely forgot to let our most excellent dog out of the car. Wasn't until later when I went outside to call him into the house and he wasn't around that I realized what I'd done.
Good thing dogs are so utterly forgiving. He probably wondered what he'd done wrong.
Heh. Good one, bob.
So happens, before turning to this page, I had just read this in a comment on Michelle's Mirror:
As you get older, three things happen.
The first is, your memory goes.
And I can't remember the other two.
Cataract surgery - Good news, Pete, glad to hear it. Your health is always in my prayers. (Worth every penny you paid for them. :D )

That front-facing camera that the NSA can access?
Where's it pointing? Yeah.
Right, Lurkin' Bob at NSA?

There is no new art thread.
Political discussions, this is the thread you want. Stay right here.

What I like about the art thread lately is, here we are in the midst of winter, many of us (not me, amen) with sub-zero temperatures and snow, and the art gives us a wonderful escape to warmer days and climes.

Ahhhh. Fresh thread smell. (with italicans from the start)
Let's debate Cruz and Trump some more!
Afraid to stop and comment, lest I fall 100 comments behind while typing!

Just read that Penthouse is ceasing print publication.

In the "why I'll never be a Big Businessman" category...
I don't really get why Big Biz guys donate to both sides. I realize, whoever wins, you can then say, I donated to you, but isn't it a bit like betting $100 on red and $100 on black?
Andy: 2016 officially sucks
Geez, Andy, generalize much? People die. Especially older people, for some reason...

In the wee hours of the morning, Milady said to me, "I just had the most amazing dream ever." To my astonishment, she said, that she had dreamed... we encountered the Trinity!
