Y'know what? Instead of reading the post and the comments right now, I'm going to sit down and read those last two short chapters of HG Wells's First Men in the Moon.
And enjoy this first cup of coffee.

Seamus Muldoon: Well, a coin is a geometric solid- a cylinder with diameter >> height, just saying.
* scratches head *
Usually, I get your puns, but this one is just sailing over my head.
(I kept trying to think of a way to work "coin a term" in there, but I can't. Time to make pets and feed the coffee.)
Last week, winds were out of the South and we had a day when the high temperature was 60.
Today, our weather is out of the North, with a high in the low 20s and a low tonight of... 11. (11!!!!11!!!!) Oh, wait, I see they've raised that to... 12.
By the end of this week, the wind will shift again and we will see highs in the 50s.
The inconsistency is almost more wearying than the cold itself. I almost just stay in bed for a day or two while the wintry days go by.
Morning, Glories! Thanks for the news, Vic. I think... That standing o for Ryan is certainly depressing. What is it with these traitors? Hope my man Jim B was not among the clapping seals.
What I just read:
There's a lot of confusion about nominal intrstrates and what the Fcando -- as Friedman and Fisher bobserved, intrrates graacclimate moncondfiat curwholly discretion sovereign.

I think it may be time to pack it up and go home.
BCochran1981: Shit, the ONT has been up for like an hour and not one of you assholes let me know???
We sent a search party down to the hotel bar. They never returned. Possibly the PB&J Bourbon.
otho: The Rise Of The Machines...
Anna Puma: Which one? Colossus or Skynet?
Landru
nerdygirl: And I refuse to call it Climate Change... Of course climate changes. Jeebus.
tu3031: Climate Chaos! CLIMATE CHAOS!!
Satellitemorphic Global Climactic Chaostrphe!!
Satellites, clearly, are CAUSING temperatures to rise/fall/whatever sells today.
If I hadn't stopped to peruse the content...
I still wouldn't've been first.
Post seems a bit cat-heavy tonight. Oh, right; caturday.
Howdy, group.
Always appreciate your selection of videos. (And always bookmarked on my heap o'links.)
For the first time in memory, I find myself arguing with Whittle on this one, though. There's no question about most of what he says, that it's dumb to think you'll win the big jackpot, not a great idea to enrich the government, and you have a far, far better chance at success (but not perfect as he seems to imply) by planning well and working hard. And folks who spend far more than they can afford are being stupid.
I believe he sets a false dichotomy, though, that one can't buy a few days of silly fun, if one can easily afford it. Maybe I'm just self-justifying, though. I don't gamble, with the sole exception of playing the same numbers, week after week, year after year, regardless of the jackpot. Never won more than I've lost, but spend far less in a year than I spend on dining out or ordering in over a couple of months. (Although some other stick-in-the-mud will argue even that is wrong.)
Search on the punchline "Moishe, meet me half way, buy a ticket!"
Inspiration for the James Brown church scene in Blues Brothers?
While Brainiac vs Ultron is a great cover, and concept, I couldn't help thinking, what if they merged ("networked" as it were)? That would be a bad combination.
Why Haven’t You Seen it Yet?
Erm, eauh, wow, guilt-trip much, Grunt? Not like I don't know how it turns out...!
And I could hardly stand to watch the Kelly interview with the three heroes. (Sorry if this has been posted on here before.)
I tend to avoid going to movies, because I detest crowds and I don't want to enrich the Hollywood commies, but I was thinking about making an exception for this one.
Howzabout, because I thought Sunday matinée would be a good time?
BB Wolf: Hell.... New York... couldn't even be original enough to come up with different names for City and State...
Oklahoma (City) and Kansas (City) (although mostly it's in Missouri) blush, Jersey City would if it were New, and Virginia City (Nevada) and Michigan City (Indiana) just act confused.
Texarkana has divided feelings.
Arson Wells: You must live in Texas
Even better, NE Oklahoma. Where we keep Texas around as a buffer to Mexico. Big, big buffer.

Ouagadougou, Burkino Faso: I was made aware of these a couple of years ago when my daughter and a friend of hers, as part of their continuing adult self-education, did an extensive geography study.
Shame that it's a target now. Such a musical name.
♬ Ouagadougou, Burkino Faso
Never really been, so I don't really know... ♬
IllTemperedCur: Duh. Had NoScript running. Nevermind.
Yeah, NoScript. That's what the other fellow noted was the problem. Funny that it interferes with styling.
Funny to hear about the problems with AT&T. I have none of those, in phone service, text, internet, hotspot, or anything else. Might be a regional thing. Our Wal-Mart is clean and employees are friendly, too. And both the DMV folks and the Postal Service folks are neighborly and efficient.
Not that I like AT&T, per se. I'm just entrenched with them (family plan) and not motivated to switch. I remember when we thought we had killed them off the first time!
