Seamus, you sure you weren't accidentally commenting on the end of the previous thread? I saw you left a bunch there.

I may be late to the game these days, but it is nice to bring up the morning thread and see Vic's lead item and Sefton's countdown as first and second comments. It's as if there are things that are right with the world.
Morning, Glories! The sun just popped up and hit me in the eye. Another bright, beautiful sunshiney day is forecast. I'll take it.

So, when I loaded the ONT, after reading the post (thanks, Maet), I went to the bottom and there were 405 comments. I started reading up the thread, and ended up reading back to the start. That was... an interesting experience.
Now, instead of reading #406-on, I'm going to go to sleep, close my eyes, go to bed, shut down the computer, and say Good Night, Gracies. Not in that order.
I don't know if this was linked from somewhere here on AoS or where, but I just watched it, and if you haven't seen it, I recommend you set aside 20min to watch this deeply disturbing video:
-- and remember that this is what Obama, all the "open borders" and "unlimited immigration" folks -- in fact, almost every one of the Dems and Repubs want to bring here. Except that "clown with the weird hair."
Nothing that I didn't already know by reading about it... but I hadn't really seen it before.
Arm yourselves. And pray for our country.
Danggit. Thought I had a good copy of the latest Gotham, but about ten minutes in, end of video. Just as it was getting "good." (For certain values of good.)
Well, at least Milady is making me some tomato soup and a grilled cheese sammich. Maybe we'll watch something fun and easy on the stomach while we eat. Like the next episode of Man in the High Castle...!

I did read the whole last thread. Glad it was moving too fast for me to chime in. I might have expressed an opinion with which someone might disagree.
I really do enjoy the majority of the discussions and debates here. Not just ejjimicational on information, but a real lesson in "how to think." Or, occasionally, now not to...
Art: Fruitful!
Blocking members of a murderous death cult who are sworn to our destruction from entering our country?
That's not hooeyar... hooeyar... hooeyar... hooeyar...

Vic: ...what threw me off was the replacement mouse I tried to use was also bad....
Reminds me of the time I went by my Mom's and she had a table lamp set aside, ready to go to a repairman. I said, let me take a look at it. Had they changed the light bulb, I asked? Yes. Twice? No. New light bulb, problem fixed.
I was the local technical genius.
Morning, Glories! Looked at the final message on the ONT and was stunned. Do I even want to know? Yow! I didn't even know a thread could be "locked"!

This was pretty good:
The World's Most Moral Army (Prager U., 5:33)
"...Colonel Richard Kemp, who was the commander of British Forces in Afghanistan, was in Israel during its war against Hamas in 2014, and analyzes whether Israel's military is ethical, evil, or somewhere in between."
The United States' first penis transplant...
But is he trading up, so to speak? One hopes it's not downsized, at least. Guess beggars can't be choosers.
Seriously, God bless him!
Just thought I'd check in and, lo and behold, it's an ONT. Guess I'll read it now.

Soona: Oklahoma. Born and raised here. Been living here most of my life.
Well, dehr, Soona. I meant SW part of the state! ![]()
Soona: We usually get tornados in the spring. Don't mistake "usually" with "always".
Waitaminnit. I call goalpost shifting. You were talking longer patterns, now you're talking short-term stuff. 'Naders in the Spring is like saying we'll have hot days in August! Nice try. Almost slipped that one by me.
BTW Do I recall right that you're out in the SW? I'm in the NE, practically in Kansas
Ed Anger: I expect this thread to get stomped before I get any replies.
Lately, the pattern is that they don't post anything new until we hit #1000.
olddog: Homeless couple found living in Walmart. This is what the police found.
Love her mugshot. His, too, but she looks totally wired.
Mallflower: I would think that a guy who could turn water into wine and raise someone from the dead wouldn't need power tools to make a table and some chairs.
His sonic screwdriver didn't do wood.
Soona: I'm not gloating. Mild temps in December usually means a fucked up January and February ......and a late spring.
I've not noted a lot of "usually" in Oklahoma weather patterns. "Sometimes" maybe, but not "usually."

Mike Hammer: Carpentry was only one step removed from blacksmithing in the context of physical effort. A lot of hammering, chiseling, etc.
Chupacabra: Carpentry without power tools leads me to err on the side of boulder-shouldered sexy Jesus.
'Zackly. Which is why I always resent it when in various media he's depicted as some slight, stoop-shouldered mallrat. Who speaks in flat, soft, almost-whispers.
Re appearance of Jesus: Whatever his ethnic look, I'm betting the carpenter was tough and manly. Difficult to imagine hearty Galilean fishermen dropping everything to follow after a pajama boy.
