Morning, Glories!

We've got fog. And tolerable temperatures. For the moment.

The moron drunk in Tulsa that got naked in a Dollar General? I just wanted to reassure you, it weren't me. I never shop at Dollar General.

That's my report. What've alla y'all been saying?

I was watching the latest Mark Dice on-the-street video last night, amused and impressed as always that he can keep a straight face while asking people (this time) if they support Hillary Clinton's plan to repeal the Bill of Rights, and especially while listening to their vacuous, gullible responses.

But his mask is nothing to what the PP videos people must have been wearing. I haven't watched the vids (I have seen some stills, unavoidably.) but I presume the videographers managed to not show revulsion; ugh.

The Four Corners Generating Station is a coal-fired power plant located near Fruitland, New Mexico, United States.

Employees at the Four Corners Power Plant were evacuated today after several suspicious devices were discovered at the station ...approximately six inches in length and capped at both ends...

Probably nothing...?

Already 25 comments on the new dump thread, and nobody sounded the fire alarm?

Chi: Apparently, the guy is supposed to turn off the spray as he drives by your 50 ft wd lot...

Even if that worked, isn't it kinda like what I think y'call herd immunity? You get to feel all green for not having your yard sprayed, but get the benefit of the spraying of the neighborhood. Have everybody put out no-spray flags, and see what happens.

Bitter Clinger: ...Crowds get upset when everything's over before they even sit down...

I'll always remember...

Dad got the fight tuned in on the radio. He went to the kitchen for something. By the time he came back, Ali had won.

Dad was not happy.

From FenelonSpeak's Daily Devotional link:

"Things to keep in mind: Is what I am saying true, and is it loving? What is my motivation? Will it help anyone? Will this reflect the character of Jesus?"

Going through this checklist before posting a comment helps, because, by the time you've gone through the list and self-edited your thought and checked the list again... the conversation has moved on.

I'm surprised. That meme was so last month. Haven't we moved on to defacing dentists' offices or something?

freaked: ...I will dance on the day that pos is gone...

I remember my feeling of profound relief when GWB took the oath of office. Whatever else he might be, at least we would never find out George was canoodling with interns in the closet. Plus, we had dodged the Gore bullet. The sunset that evening was a still-memorable red, white, and blue. (Might have been the celebratory substances.)

And that was just Clinton leaving. IF we can remove the Jug-Eared Communist from the White House, I hope I would be so much more thankful. Hard to imagine from here.

Sheesh. I've bummed myself out already. Coffee! Stat!

Leftover dangling threads

VIA, Paper towels were enough. TrivialPursuer, Had the carton been more full, I could have had a serious bath.

@votermom, rickb223, The cereal is (almost) something I can-do-while-bleary, to give me energy to make coffee. And get to the bacon.

But, yes, I probably should go back to setting up the coffee machine at night.

Sooo, did this silly comment get willowed while I wrote? (Checking style guide - is Willowed supposed to be capitalized?)

FenelonSpoke: I thought I would put out a whiteboard on PP today....

"Yeah, we did some audience testing and found that 'Planned Parenthood' polled better than 'Planned Infanticide.'"

Obviously I have no good suggestion, but in trying to think of one, I pondered the irony of the misnomer, "Planned Parenthood," an organization that's all about un-planned pregnancies and not becoming a parent.

Imagine Planned Parenthood offering services true to their name: helping a woman track her cycles to conceive; dealing with physical and mental issues of pregnancy; counseling mothers and fathers about balancing life and relationships with-kids; help dealing with sibling issues; grievance counseling for miscarriages (!); parental support groups.

What, that's not their business model?

Meathead was an idiot. Archie was beloved. Despite Lear, despite the left-angling mentality of all the writers and actors, Archie's true heart of gold, conservative values, and even his serious flaws make for a character folks found endearing. Because he was right.

Meathead, intended to be the conscience of the show, was a repugnant idiot because even when he might have, once in a while, just by chance, been right in fact, he was always wrong in spirit.

My take. Might not have been everybody's.

When racist Archie got counterpointed by racist George Jefferson, that was pretty funny. Couldn't do any of that today.

Always a weird feeling to read, read, read, maybe comment a couple times, then suddenly get caught up to the end of the thread... just as everyone has moved on. It's like... something.

Pull out carton of almond milk, shake it up, take off cap.
Remember that there's blueberries. Add some to cereal.

VIA: Your Feel Good story for today. From Zip's place
http://www.weaselzippers.us/?p=230689

Story: Nigerian troops rescued 178 people from Boko Haram in attacks that destroyed several camps... 101 of those freed are children, along with 67 women and 10 men...

War, especially against Islamofascism, is never "good" news, but that's about as good as it gets.

See, Obama's plan to let regions handle their own troubles without nasty old America's influence or interference is working out just fine. (Ow, I hurt myself just thinking that.)

The sun, still rising far to the North, cast a red ray down between the trees on the horizon, illuminating the fog lifting off the pastures to a glowing coral. Just for a moment, the fog is aflame, and then it's gone.

Morning, Glories!
