OKC 8yo Drives 20 Miles
Rachelle Blidner , New York Daily News

"A deaf 8-year-old boy went on an overnight joyride through Oklahoma City, driving 20 miles before crashing into a curb on the other side of the city Thursday..."

"Iron Man" Gives 7yo Real Bionic Arm
Leon Siciliano, Telegraph UK
http://bit.ly/1x184Vc

"...Alex has two favourite things, riding his bike and superheroes. But Alex has a birth defect, his right arm is only partially formed making it difficult to ride his bike. Limbitless... builds 3D-printed bionic limbs for disabled children... enlisted a fairly special friend to [give Alex his bionic arm]."

[I can imagine a 7yo thinking, I know he's just an actor who plays genius inventor Tony Stark in the movies, but he brought me a real bionic arm! Don't know which is cooler, that I've got a bionic arm, or that I got it from Iron Man!]

When Defender Doggie decided it was time to go out, I walked out with him. There in the driveway were three fawns, a few other white-tail scattered about the lawn. They're all frozen, staring at us. I call a weak halloo. Dog pauses about five long seconds, then takes off full throttle, woofing and racing, and the deer all hop away merrily, including several I hadn't previously seen.

Fifteen minutes later, the dog is lying down in front of the house. The deer are back, as close as before. It's a game they play. For tick-infested, dirty, overgrown yard rats, they're kind-of pretty.

Thick fog two days ago was harsh on deer and, presumably, drivers. Fawn dead right outside our front gate, and a doe dead around the corner and down the hill on the lowland crossing. Both corpses were gone before the evening. Waste not...!

That's the farm report for Spring, 2015.

freaked: 'Two-faced cow sold at auction set for slaughterhouse'

Answer #1
I am really getting tired of the Hillary news overload.

Answer #2
An auction is set for the slaughterhouse? How does that work?

Answer #3
Two-faced cows are bred for double-patty burgers. True Oklahoma Ranching fact!

I noticed that last night I had launched a tab for the link from the ONT on "10 Unbelievable Stories Involving The Vagina." So, this morning, I read it. And regretted that I will not be able to recover either the time nor the brain cells lost.

Now, where is the follow-up, ten unbelievable stories involving penii? (Recalls the classic joke about Italian drivers who use one hand to give the one-finger salute to other drivers, and the other to hold the booze and cig...?)

Morning, Glories!

Friday the 13th come on a Friday two months in a row. I think it's obvious that global warming is to blame.

Daughter, Milady, and I just recently watched the first Hopalong Cassidy TV show. Didn't seem to be cut up from a movie, but I hadn't been thinking about it.

It seems a really, really, really long time ago I would lie on the floor, head cradled in hands, watching the old black-and-white. Always liked Hoppy.

freedom1781, "bad guys lost and good guys won" — a-yup. Clear-cut good and evil, clean-cut good guys (although often with scruffy sidekicks). Television Westerns, comic book superheroes, "young adult" (as they'd say today) books, back when, didn't just tell stories, they portrayed morality, virtue, uprightness… as if they were to be valued. The percentage of society among whom this still holds, seems diminished. Boy, do I sound like a geezer?

Hillary's Turn
She's done her time in the barrel, now make her President!

Old 36-sec video webwork… from last June. I'm still not back in the webworking saddle. I either have to churn out something soon or change my handle.

In about five days is the 19th anniversary of my first web page going up. I'd hoped to give the website a birthday facelift, start some new webwork series, something something something or other.

Best I can do at this point may be, start planning for the 20th. God willing and the solar winds don't rise. Imagine the world a year from now!

(This is not the first page, but it is the first cartoon I put online. Teaser panel from that below if it works. Coloring work done by Daughter.)

Dad: Is that any way to *love* one another?

So, about two hours ago, I'm enjoying a cup of coffee, gazing at the work that needs to be done in the yard now that the weather is becoming cooperative, when my cell sounds an alarm tone.

Suddenly, I remember that teethcleaning I had scheduled. Half-hour reminder and it's at least fifteen minutes drive from home to dentist. I might not have flossed thoroughly. But, what the heck, it was a cleaning, right?

New hygeinist is daughter of a dentist; teeth run in their family. She said I seemed to be doing okay. Told her, now that you've seen inside my head, let me ask: I'm in my 60s and my plan is to go another 60, so, whattaya think, will my (remaining) teeth hang in there? She said, as long as you take care of them; that's what they're designed to do, last a lifetime. Yay!

Greatest feeling ever, post-Dentist cleaning visit. Never lasts long. Oooh! Wife made cookies! ...

From Fenelon's Daily Bread link
http://odb.org/2011/11/05/peace-in-crisis/

"...The criminal was subdued, but Ted was shot in the crossfire. As he was driven by ambulance to the hospital, he felt deep waves of peace flowing over his soul from the Holy Spirit. Ted felt so tranquil that he was able to offer words of comfort to the law enforcement officer who was emotionally distraught over the crisis...."

Those deep waves of peace happen to come after they'd administered some drugs to him?

The car in which I was a passenger hit a horse back in Texas in Feb '78. I awoke to cold wind, covered in shattered windshield, stuck to the blood, fortunately most of it the horse's, but a considerable amount mine. I never felt any pain. Although groggy, I was clear about the circumstances. (The driver was fine BTW.)

Once I was fully awake, I was able to ascertain that my insides were okay. I remember lying on the stretcher by the car, joking with the ambulance attendants as they cut off my shirt. In the ambulance, I tried to joke, "watch out, guys, there's horses on the road tonight!" (Although whether they could actually understand me with my dashboard-smashed mouth and delirium, I don't know).

Shock is an amazing thing.

Don't think me just cynical. The Holy Spirit is an amazing thing, too. After that wreck was definitely one of those times when all I could do was just be there, with my fate utterly outside my hands. Can't do anything else? Might as well trust!

I guess the physical condition of shock could be a Holy Spirit helper.

SE Pa Moron: "Hector is not a troll -- it's a moby. The purpose is to write inflammatory, over the top comments purporting to be an average conservative commenter. Banhammer is needed."

I'm not always clear on trolls, concern trolls, mobys... thanks for clearing that up.

I admit I don't understand the strategy (but then, I'm a person who dislikes being where I'm unwanted). Isn't the idea to try to generate like-minded feedback to point to and say, "see they really think like that"? As if some Moron is going to say, "Duh, yeah, me too also think off the coloreds!" He never gets anything like that, nothing but blastback.

I pray for that poor little soul. "Oh, Lord, teach the lesson of civility... with thy mighty Banhammer."
