Might need to moderate that attitude just a bit when you move to the Texarkoma area. Just like I was registered Democrat when we lived in Chicago, I switched right (and gladly) to Republican when we moved back to Oklahoma. For the same deady practical reasons: The primaries are where the election takes place in one-party areas.

Every morning lately, about the time that I arise, the temperature plunges, before starting a quick climb back up. Got down to freezing this morning. The forecasts never predict this dip.

I figure it's the South, inhaling before sunrise, drawing down a bunch of Northern air, until the South exhales, and our temperatures go back up.

This is off this topic, but I am too lazy to go look up the Leatherneck article and comment there. I mentioned that the graphic was over at Liberal Logic 101? Well, a commenter lashed out that there's no evidence that it had any such beheady-blocking purposes. Someone replied, helpfully, chill out. Just thought I'd bring your attention to the ongoing "debate."

cth, I was amused that you asked, what is it? Milady saw it and asked first, what is that? is that a flyswatter? Then it dawned on her. (Working in public places, one becomes familiar with things like this.) Heh.

I've heard a lot of vets talk about lining up to water her grave.

On Ace of Spades, old Vic reports news & acid commentary almost every day, kind-of the Pistol Pete there. While I was taking advantage of my legal 2-S (student) draft dodge, Vic was dropping bombs on the Viet Cong. That anti-aircraft gun on which Hanoi Jane was sitting? It was aimed at him, generally, specifically, and politically. Infuriating beyond words.

That she was not tried as a traitor upon her return was really disturbing to me. What did such betrayal mean anymore if it went unpunished, practically unacknowledged as the heinous crime it is? I was still pretty naive about how far we had already sunk, I guess.

Now we have far worse than that airhead in the Oval Office.
