No morning thread; no comments for 15min.; only two comments in the last couple hours.
Must be Saturday.
Good. I'm going back to bed. Wake me up if anything happens.

"Archie is getting a reboot. The last issue (#666) will be released in June…" —Alan Gardner, Daily Cartoonist
The accompanying illustration has a redhead and a young woman of ethnicity where Betty and Veronica are supposed to be. You don't suppose… No, it's too vile to contemplate…
In any case, what kind of evil corporation ends a run on #666? This can't bode well.
I commented about this on Ace this morning; it stirred up some amusing replies. I'll save myself the trouble of thinking new thoughts by the wonders of cut'n'paste:
WZ headline: Lib Rag Vox: Allowing Women To Carry Guns "Implicitly Devalues" Sexual Assaults
I don't know what that could possibly mean; I have no thought to actually damage my brain by reading about it; but I just have to say, the world has officially gone beyond the range of audience comprehension. (ht Frank Zappa)
#ObamaLovesAmerica being destroyed from within.
(No twitterer I, that tweet is free to good home.)
How did we slip past triple-6 so easily? Worked, though.
Troll shows signs of interfacing with content rather than merely meme generation. A reaching-out. May be feeling especially lonely today. Might be the cold.
Timon: "...a windows machine that won't let me open any programs..."
To start with, have you tried a cold reboot?
That's about the extent of help I'm likely to be, but, what Windows version? (95? 2000? Millenium?) ![]()

Whoo hoo! Up to 30°F (feels like 22) and climbing. And there's no sun yet. Why, we might get up to 50 today! Life is good in the Sooner State.
I got nothin'. Just chimed in 'cause I can't do much of anything else with this little ball of yellow fuzzy warmth sitting in my lap, holding down one arm with his claws.
Rabbit pizza?
Morning, Glories!
A balmy 24 this a.m. in NE OK. But reading the temps in Mich chills me so, I may just stay under the covers.
Congratulations to the Golfmans. A good start.

Deserved acclaim!
However, this speaks to one of my long-standing concerns: If PoliNation hits the big time, will commenters have to start behaving ourselves?
O/T, Sherry McEvil. I am pretty bad with names sometimes, even familiar folk; I've been trying for three days to come up with that name of my "neighbor." Finally searched my records on "stiletto" and found her.
Sherry hasn't been on in weeks, I don't think. I know I had her email addr but can't seem to find it. Anyone else happen to have it? Or, Sherry, if you're lurking: Hi!
Zap Rowsdower: "I don't know about the Edison cylinders, but I've got 78s from the 'teens that are still playable. The things are 1/4" thick and like steel plate."
I have a huge stack of 78rpm platters. Several Christmases back, I received a turntable that hooks up to computer by USB and plays 78, 45, or 33rpm. One of these days, I might get to transfer some of those "oldies."
The difference between those 78s and the nearly "floppy" pressed wax from the end of LP days is startling.
Morning Glories!
I seem to recall reading recently that Tom Edison thought the phonograph was a novelty that would blow over. Why would anyone want to listen to recorded music? Maybe that was someone else, 'cause ol' supersalesman Tom was disinclined to do anything but talk up his products.
My older brother used to collect wax cylinder records, and had the Victrola to play them on. Wonder if he still has that stuff, and if it's in any condition to be played anymore. (Been estranged from brother for a number of years - always welcome prayers for reconciliation, with his nonagenarian mother, at least).

Morning, Glories! Good to have the Vic News Network back up today.
I slept through to past 7am this morning. First time in long ages. And I really needed it, so I'm glad, even if it means playing catch-up on the morning thread when I finally get to it.
I had the thought of giving up commenting for Lent. I had contemplated giving up some "bad habit," but if you're supposed to give up something you really like, then commenting might be the thing. Not reading comments, just leaving them. Whattaya think? (Yes, I should have started already if that's what I'm doing.)
And it's up to 18°F in NE Okla. Heat wave!
(Checks to make sure there's no nood before posting.)

The little black diamonds with question marks - they're black holes that suck my attention away from the text. Didn't that supervillain Eclipso use a black diamond? They're evil!
As long as Pixy has this problem in acecomments, it might behoove posters to use html codes instead of Unicode characters in the posts. Might be incentive to get the problem fixed. Ha! Sure! In #twoweeks
Unicode to HTML converter (not mine):

Now to go back and actually read the post...
MPPPppppp: "If she really did appear on that show - after the politicalhit job they did on her - then she absolutely is as dumb as her detractors say."
Well, shit, Mary, that's pretty harsh. She is self-effacing enough to laugh at what they did, not feel screwed about it. Think she should join Outrage Inc instead? I like it that she'll not back down. Undefeated.
I only watched the bit where Seinfeld was taking q's from the audience, except everyone he called on was a celeb. Sarah pops up and Seinfeld says, "Yes, Tina?" Here, watch it for yourself.
