Ben Shapiro did a video on the myth of the moderate muslims. Let me look it up. Meanwhile, something sorta related I just posted over at Ace:

Speaking of delusional, or worse, Obama says of Iran, "according to their Supreme Leader, it would be contrary to their faith to obtain a nuclear weapon."

So, party down, everybody, nuclear Iran in no threat!

"As she marks the fifth anniversary of her anti-childhood-obesity initiative, the first lady says it feels like there's 'a new norm' in how families think about food and what's healthy."
-Yahoo News via WZ

On what planet do such people live?

The new norm, I pray, is a generation of school children who think of moldy mystery meat and starvation portions when they think of Democrat government programs "here to help you."

"'Strategic Patience': The #TwoWeeks of foreign policy."

Heh. Good one, Andy.

Morning, Glories!

I come to AoS for the insightful articles, pithy commentary, the wide-ranging, informative discussions and a fascinating variety of links.

Detailed descriptions of individual bowel movements are just a bonus feature.

Eeeww. Spark the Cat, who I just fed! found himself a fieldmouse almost as big as his head. He is alternating between tossing the corpse in the air and nibbling on it.

Earning his keep, I appreciate that. But its like having a cannibal for a security guard.

ICYMI, a page of random links I dumped yesterday to a page on my long-neglected website; news and entertainments:

Lessee if I can do this before the cell battery fails...

Morning, Glories!

I had a bunch of random tabs open yesterday to news & stuff, so I dumped them as links into a web page on my site.

Hey, nice ONT. Well, good. Anyway, informative. Or at least... you know what, nice ONT.

I am not in the top ten lists
top ten lists

I am not in the top ten lists
Should I be ashamed or proud?

At least I'm not HAMMERing everyone with comments.

Totally aside and off-topic: After four months, I managed to post a webwork. Sort-of. Not an original webwork, just a list of a couple dozen links like I would've posted here, in no particular order. At least it broke the drought. My web-coding skills proved rather rusty. Had to dust off some long-unused neurons.

FTR, the is.gd links above are good for me on Opera browser on Windows tablet on AT&T.

+I've never used anything but bit.ly, and never had a problem with it.

"Theaters tell moviegoers to leave whips at home"
(Drudge)

I'm kind-of torn on this.

On the one hand, it's a sad sign of the degradation of our culture.

On the other hand, no-whip zones are just open invitations to assault by criminal whippers. Everyone should support the right to keep and bear open or concealed whips. Because militia.

Cartoon by Randy Bish: B Williams haunted by Walter Cronkite - "Ghost of Integrity Past."

I might have thought so, too, once, before I knew the real Cronkite. But, no. Pairing Walter with Williams is like his being congratulated on his honesty by Dan Rather.

Walt was a more clever liar, though. Ghost of propagandistic manipulation past.

The Founders might not be as surprised to see the predictable degradation of the Federal government as they would to see the powerful and inspiring Constitutionalist movement opposing that Federal tyranny.

Not that they didn't know they did good work, but that we would know they did good work.

Sunrise has finally begun. Looking East, up the hill, traces of fog weave among the pines on the horizon, beneath a turquoise sky braided with clumps of pink and purple cloud. A crisp 35° but going up to twice that many ° today.

A day to look forward to. A day to which to look forward. Aw, futz. Sometimes a participle ought to be dangled.

shredded chi: "once I learned that there was a fatality, I felt horrible..."

Yeah, I thought of that when I said "heh" earlier... but the joke is still obligatory, it seems. Somebody had to make it.

Fenelon: Thank you. That's a pretty all-encompassing prayer there.

The 5th column Hat: "Chemically speaking, it is just a matter of concentration."

Like the smell of skunk I had drifting into the house from outside last night. The first little whiff isn't unpleasant....

Morning, Glories, or at least it's threatening to be morning soon around these parts. Will Pastor FenelonSpoke hold services today for the Congregation of Unchurched Morons?

"Politics??? We're talking TRAINS here woman, let us be!"

Heh. Seriously.

My 2¢ worth of train trivia.

Dad had a small O gauge set-up in the basement, but by the time I was old enough to enjoy it, the family was falling apart, and I didn't get to fully appreciate it. Wonder whatever happened to all Dad's trainboard stuff.

I got to play with a friends HO-scale set-up, though.

Never got a home with a trainboard for myself. One of those things you think you'll easily be able to have as an adult. Heh. No.

But here at the ranch, half a mile away, the full-scale trains rumble by every night. Just far enough away that the rumble and whistling are pleasant, not disturbing. That, to me, is life as it should be.

Ricardo Kill: "What'd you do with the deer, MW?"

Told the dog there were deer out there. He just laid there. Poor guy's getting old. So, I fed the pets, and now he wants to go out, but the deer had wandered off.

I have a rule about not shooting them in the living area. To please the women & children. Just over the wall in the pasture, fair game.
