Of course: what I was trying to say, in one succinct sarcastic sentence, in maddogg's comment immediately before mine. Why do I bother? ![]()

Engaging in inappropriate self-promotion.
Violating contract a dozen ways, no doubt.
Embarrassing employer.
Walking off the job.
Icing: an inappropriate epithet live on the air.
A prime expression of the values of pot.
I don't really consider it so, any more than I consider urine christ to be a prime expression of the values of free speech.
But, seems t'me, someone advocating for pot doesn't do the cause much good to act, like, totally-baked, drop-out, foulmouth, f the establishment, doood!
DangerGirl - My dear old dog was nuzzling me just as I read about yours. We're watching a dear old cat fade; surprised he made it through the night.
I was thinking earlier this morning how they say, nothing's harder than a child dying before the parent. Our animal pals are different in relationship to us, of course, but it's nearly as hard, and over a lifetime we may see (I have seen) so many die.
Remember all the waggy tails and wet nose presses. Good dog.
To win 72 voigynz requires dying while fighting jihad.
If I read this right, to win 144, just get killed by Americans.
Line forms over there, fellahs.

Happy Anniversary, FenelonSpoke!
Vic news, Poppins tale, Granniversaries, JJ countdown. Now real headlines. That's the way to start the week!
Morning, Glories!
Mindful, sounds like you and kitty Jack were good to each other.

490.... Mindful.
We need pics of Jack. Send 'em to a COB tonight, to post in tomorrow's ONT.
The HONOR of raising a glass to Jack, or to his memory..... words fail me.
Let us gaze in rapt adoration upon the visage of he who is lost.
Most of us are ardently bonded to our various pets, and we're not only
bonded to you in this grief, but melded souls with you in this time.
I'm gonna pour a bourbon now. To Harley. Tomorrow night, to Jack.
I hope the Moron Horde will join me in force, tomorrow night, in honor of Jack.

That's actually a worthy sentiment. Let's get some pics -- because, y'know, among the Horde, the rule is "pics or it didn't happen" when it comes to pussy.
And, seriously, MW.....despite the horrific joke I couldn't help telling....{{{MW}}}, and pass it on to your little furry friend.

Peeking back in to say,
appreciate everyone's thoughts for kitty Jack.
Gnite again.
Cat is unhappy..., wants to go out. I don't want him to go out...., but mindful web worker reminds me that I will not always have the option of making that decision, so I'll take him out.

Although not a cat owner mindfuls remarks strike home. I've owned dogs since 1982. Can't imagine life without them. The worst part of being a pet owner is saying goodbye to them.

Did you give the lessons or was it your cat?

An intriguing and entertaining variety pack, Professor Mætenloch. Thank you for your efforts, as always.
I'm on neither top 10 list. I blame my so-called real life. And all those who comment and sock more than I do. But mostly … hmmm… which?

I'm going to go home now and continue watch on old kitteh Jack. Seems to be doing his final fade today, barring miraculous recovery, to which I'm always open, but, as ever, itismywillthatyourwillbedoneohLordamen.

A Message to President Obama from a former Muslim by Brother Rachid
The past two weeks, I waited until after 100 comments to add my silly 2¢ "bathroom reader" review. If the pace doesn't pick up, this thread may never get there.
Okay, when I started writing this, there were
Actually, this book-but-not-a-read has a Famous Author.
Have a Great Day - Every Day!
by Mr Power of Positive Thinking himself, Norman Vincent Peale
I hear the title in the Perfesser's voice from Futurama. "Have a Great Day, Every Juan!"
The format is a year's worth of "inspirational messages," one for each day, in the category of devotional calendar.
So, let's open it up to Sep 21.
"Keep the mouth lines up. Smile and be happy. William James claimed that we are happy because we smile rather than we smile because we are happy. The smile comes first. It is also a fact that happiness in the heart puts a smile on the lips. Cultivate optimism, always looking on the bright side, and you will develop a happy state of life."
There was a memorable Sunday Zits comic strip on this line.
Oh, look, there's a Feb 29 entry: "… On this one day in Leap Year, God gives us an extra chance at living. …"
Hm.
I'm all for positive thinking. Still, I think it's good these are meant to be taken only one per day, lest my argumentative inner grump be aroused by hoppy thawghts overdose.
pic not pick.
Sigh.
At least I shook off the "mindless webworker" sock I still wore from some post yesterday and apparently had on all through the morning thread.
Not that it's inaccurate...
