When I turned twenty, looking back, I was so glad I was no longer the ignorant, gawky, annoying kid of my youth, proud I had become a righteous, reasonable man.

Looking back at forty, I cringed to realize all the terrible errors I had made as an young adult, but glad I had learned and grown so much wiser and more mature.

At sixty, I could barely stand to think of the trail of ruin, failure, and injury I had done in those middle years, the only relief from guilt and grief being that, at least now, I know better.

Not looking forward to looking back at eighty!

Driven from my bed by thoughts to dark to relate, I sat under the stars a little while just now. Cool breeze blowing. Saw a meteor! Having missed the last half-dozen big meteor showers, that made me smile.

Anyway, I think it was on here that someone linked an article about the removal of young bull elephants from the old bull's dominance, and the resultant change in their behavior for the worse. Re-introducing the old bull stopped the behaviors.

Harshly put but not unwise. I've been in that corner for many decades, not putting things online that could give anyone ideas. Topics come up that prompt me to discuss, basically, guerrilla or subversive tactics, and even though the odds are exceedingly small that anything I opine will actually be read and implemented by any nutcase, it is all archived and searchable.

one of my oldest memories. staying overnight at my great-aunts' house, for reasons i can't recall and talking with my mother she can't imagine why i ever spent the night there, either. but i woke up in the morning, went down to their old, old tv with the roundish screen, turned it on to the test pattern, adjusted the horizontal, adjusted the vertical, made sure the sound was down, and... 'hey, kids1 wwhat time is it/'

it seems the shift has failed on my keyboard.
