Succinctly put. But why not? I am not a psychotherapist but I play an armchair psychoanalyst on the web, but it seems painfully simple, really, 'though I won't match your conciseness.
If you understand you're part of a bigger reality (I would say, God's creation, but that's just me), you may learn, preferably vicariously by education but, if need be (feebly raises hand), the hard way, by experience, pain, and failure; but you are willing to be corrected.
If you think your subjective beliefs trump reality, you simply cannot learn better because you're always right in your own mind.. Narcissism, infantilism, whatever it might be called, seems like Vanity uber alles instead of a grown-up who can keep Ego on a leash.

Reminds me for some reason of the old Bill Cosby routine. He's a medic, in a foxhole. Some guy gets shot. Fellow with Cosby in the foxhole yells, "Charlie! They got Charlie!" He leaps out of the foxhole and starts firing wildly, and of course gets shot himself. First thing he says? "Medic!" (If I could search from here easily, I bet it's online; Cosby's hilarious delivery being of course infinitely better than my poor re-telling.)

Storm broke about 3:30. Brave Doggie awakened me so I'd know to pet and reassure him vigorously. I don't even think he's all that scared anymore. It's just a cue.
Mellow yellow cat wanted outside in the middle of it, so I let him out. By dawn feeding time, he wasn't interested in what I offered. Has he figured out the hunting is good after heavy rain? I suspect so.

I was never in the armed services (deepest admiration, thanks and prayers for God's blessings for all who were and are), and as close as I ever got to studying war strategies was playing Risk, but in my fluffy-armchair idiocy, I wonder what better battle strategists think...
Is ISSA spreading themselves too thin too fast? I know they're picking up loot, weapons, soldiers, as they roll along, but aren't they really rather vulnerable?
I mean, of course, if there was any qualified military in the world who wanted to stop them.
