cth: "So THAT’S what’s wrong with you!"

Absolutely! (Well, a later contributing factor, anyway.) As you can tell from this semi-autobiographical comic. (If you don't have time to parse out the whole 'toon, scroll to the last panel, "Secret Origins.")

When we had our first, being as we were both mostly work-at-home parents, when the baby was fussy, you could get a break by handing fussy over to the other parent.

When you have twins, when you hand a fussy baby to the other parent, they hand you one back.

Met a woman pushing a stroller with her triplets one day. She sure had our sympathy! I can't imagine! And if you have enough multiples, you have to start building custom furniture! (Laughing quads vid.)

Yeah, you can't reverse-psyche Murphy. I forgot about that teaching from scripture, "if it wasn't for bad luck, I wouldn't have no luck at all."

The real reason I wrote the program to clean up text for this crippled commentaria?
http://mindfulwebworks.com/radical/ascii-izer-for-ace-commenters

I figured, if I put in a good day's effort, posted the program, and told people about it, my usual luck would kick in, and Pixy would fix the problems and make my work moot.

Waiting.........

Anybody ever try it?

"We fired the first [interceptor]. It missed. Second [interceptor]. It missed. This is very rare. I was in shock. At this point we had just four seconds until the missile lands. We had already notified emergency services to converge on the target location and had warned of a mass-casualty incident.

"Suddenly, Iron Dome (which calculates wind speeds, among other things) shows a major wind coming from the east, a strong wind that ... sends the missile into the sea. We were all stunned. I stood up and shouted, 'There is a God!'

"I witnessed this miracle with my own eyes. It was not told or reported to me. I saw the hand of God send that missile into the sea."

As sometimes happens, I've been delayed in departing, so ignore my earlier goodnight. Goodnight again now, just to cover my basses.

~~~---===*** POT! ***===---~~~
It was recently brought to my attention, by a friend who follows such things, that marijuana is just as abundant as it was in Oklahoma, er, back in a day I might have followed such things.
Yes, it's still illegal here (never mind the unenforced Federal Tax illegality thing); it's ubiquitous nevertheless. Good stuff, good prices, too, usually, so I'm told, compared to back when, ahem, my friends were doing it.
However, this person complained, the market is still Underground (underground because "black" would be rasssissst) and, therefore, buyer, you're stuck. He was displeased with his purchase of some cannabis. The particular descriptors I have not heard in a long while. Ditch weed. Moldy. Ineffective. Even (the horror!) ineffective at achieving one's mellow. What are you going to do? Call the police?
Right now, right over the line, on the other end of the state, okay, 'way 'way 'way out there on the panhandle, you can cross into Colorado and (so I am given to understand) partake as liberally as you can afford, as long as you can fake a claim to a headache or the sniffles. (Medical marijuana. Right.)
But here. Different universe. States as experiments. Yeah. Well, any thinking person would rather be in Oklahoma than Colorado. But, in any case, I'll bet few Coloradishes any longer have to put up with moldy, headache-inducing ditch weed. Viva markets, as free as they can be, considering.
But, then, Colorado had Alcohol Repeal and Liquor by the Drink long before Oklahoma got that "progressive." So, I expect, sometime by mid-next-century, Oklahoma can properly grow hemp again.
This is important. Not for the dope.
We're going to need a lot of sturdy rope.
And so, adieu.
The only feedback so far: Vic said it wouldn't work, but did not say if he'd tried it. I'd be depressed about the lack of response, if I didn't know what a bunch of morons y'all are. Errrrr. As a parent of twin boys (fraternal, not identical, though), I feel qualified to say, "you're doing it wrong!" Plus, she has to buy two of the "I'm not tired" shirts!
By the time they're 13, she won't have a brain cell left.
"There's actually some folk tradition about homes and planting placentas to form a bond with the earth."
Okay. When daughter was born, at home, we wrapped up the placenta and stuck it in the freezer. Thinking, soon, we'll move out of the apartment and into a house and we'll plant a tree with this as fertilizer. Or something. I dunno. We were nuts; we'd just had a kid.
Years pass. Our twin boys are born. In a hospital. Where placentas were disposed of properly. But, eventually, we found the first one in the back of the freezer. Since we were still at the apartment, we planted a blue spruce with that placenta in honor of all three having been born while we lived there.
We moved out, sold the building. Tree grew up, 'way too big for the yard. New owners did the right thing and removed the tree.
Oh, well. Everything passes.
