Here's something Pete might not run into.

Cuzzin BD blogged this video and noted that there was a "great anecdote... at the 26:45 mark." I'm going to risk embedding it here, hope that's okay, and if WordPress handles the link correctly, it should start at 26:45. To be honest, I've only watched from that point to the end, so far. Good anecdote, with important point.

Dr. Russell Moore, president of the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention, speaks at the Oklahoma Council of Public Affairs on "Why the Hobby Lobby Case Matters."

Here's a good one Pete would probably run across by tomorrow, so hope this isn't stepping on his toes.

A Black Guy Named "Clinton Tucker" is Suing Benjamin Moore Paints for Selling a Paint with the "Racially Offensive" Name "Tucker Chocolate" - and there's more. As reported by Mr. Ace of Spades itself.

Noted by a commenter on Ace of Spades this morning:

Lacey Donohue, Managing editior of Gawker: "In conclusion, Hobby Lobby is a garbage store for garbage people who like to display words on wood in their hoarded homes."

I chimed in: I am SO going to Hobby Lobby today to find some words on wood to display in my hoarded home. And I'm going to write a song about the Bitter Clinger's Hoarded Home. Was the writer thinking of "hoarders" Sheesh!

"...she must return to the White House from which she previously stole the silverware....

As the title of a post on PoliNation put it, they think they're Elite and Entitled.

Heh. And they pried off all the W's from the keyboards.

Replacing all the keyboards and mice after the Clinton crowd left would probably have been a good idea in any case. Who knows what they were doing when they touched them!

The jump on number of views on this video after being embedded here resembles a certain familiar hockey stick… really. :)

When I checked this morning, I saw the video had jumped to over 300 views. Thanks, PoliNation!

Okay, all of that was from the earlier embed on Moonbattery. The YooToob stats aren’t all in since you added it…! :D

An honor to have my little nightshade start transplanted into the garden here, among friends, alongside so much excellent material y’all create and discover. Just be careful not to confuse it with the edible herbs.

Over on Ace of Spades blog this morning, Vic (Pistol Pete's separated-at-birth brother) posted about the Vet fired from Cracker Barrel. Like Pete, Vic sided with the Vet. I'd already read about it from here, and posted this comment:

Vet working as greeter gives stuff away at his job.

Gets told not to.

Does it again.

Gets told not to.

Does it again.

Gets fired.

BOYCOTT CRACKER BARREL!

Regardless of whether CB was petty, Vet knew he was pushing the rules or he was mentally off. Either way, sorry, apply to be a Wal-Mart greeter... where they still won't let you give stuff away.

I sympathize fully with what the seemingly kind-hearted Vet was doing, and maybe CB could've supported him, played it as positive promo, without having a string of bums lining up for freebies, but if mgmt didn't like it, he should have paid for what he was handing out, or quit, not keep forcing them to do what he wanted.

Unless I miss something in the story.

Note especially, wise businessfolk have to be aware that one innocent handout can end up with a line of bums putting notches on your garden gate. ("Do your good deeds in secret" is more than just humility, it's good business.)

Others also suggested to Vic that the employee was in the wrong (someone said he was actually on his fifth violation), and Vic re-read the article and reversed his earlier opinion. Which led to me write this:

Vic revises > He deserved to get fired.

Now, folks, when was the last time you saw anyone in the LaughingStock Media re-investigate a story and self-correct in this manner, rather than double down on error because of pride or prejudice?

You have to see it was propaganda intended to portray Big Mean Conservatively-perceived Corp cruelly firing Kindly Old Vet for giving Homeless Person a pack of ketchup. Looks bad for Righties any way you play it, is the spin. Simultaneously agitated the base of anti-conservative jackals.

If Vic fell for it, how many others, with far less wit or wisdom, are permanently influenced, or had their notions reinforced, by such twisted portrayals?

And this is just one tiny example of the Regressives' Playbook.

That ended up being a long comment. Suppose it should have been attached to the earlier post. I'm just lazy or something.

You must be one of those bitter clingers from one of those states that all counties voted against His Majesty. Warmonger!

Seriously... start of?

Blog status report for confused commenters.

The Top Headline Comments thread appears to have been abandoned. The Monday Morning News Dump is sputtering. You are currently reading a Monty challenge to those not quite yet awake. And Gabe should strike soon with a SCOTUS post. And soon maybe others, and eventually Ace, will have something to opine. It's like they don't even care about how this rapid proliferation of posts affects the commenting community's conversations!

Most importantly, this browser on my pitiful cell doesn't like too many tabs open. May have to drive in to a desktop early, just to keep up with AoSHQ.

Consumed with gloom and doom from the news of the morning, I thought I’d tune in to PoliNation and this is what I find.

Thanks, chrissy.

From the personal to the planetary, every prayer is needed. Every one I know is hurting or hurt, one way or another. I can never pray for the restoration of health to my beloved or strength for our family spirit, without thinking of all the sick, and all the wounded families, and our sick and wounded world, even the troubled family of the believers in Our Father.

At least, such universalizing puts the personal in perspective, but it seems an awfully hard duty of prayer, because I’m a poor, intermittant, frantic kind of pray-er, and I get pretty selfish about Milady’s health and my own distraught family’s circumstances. Faithless and infantile, I whine more than pray, Jesus why can’t you do what we know you can, for your children here, your world here? If our faith is what we need, grace us with more unencumbered living faith. Or can’t we pray for that if we don’t have enough faith in the first place? Ack! Spiritual Catch-22s. Hello? Hello? (Links to an old cartoon of mine.)

Then there are moments of sobriety when it does occur to me that it all works out to the will of our Father, and my job is not to tell God how to run things but to submit utterly to that Will. Such moments pass. Then I’m like Jimmy Stewart in Wonderful Life, griping that a sock on the puss was the answer to my prayer and do you have eight thousand bucks, angel?

Shine upon us, Spirit, that we may better have our Father and the Son shine through us.

S. Muldoon > Just roll with it...

Heh. Oh, I've learned that (learned, as it does not come natually for me). This is a peculiar kind of medium. Reminds me of being at a party, and you start into a story or joke, and something happens and you never finish. So, it's not exclusive to this medium. like a remark I made at the last HS reunion that I later realized could be and probably was taken totally not as I meant. I'll correct that in five years?

It is funny to go back and see a comment that was not at all related to what I thought I was answering, and it's just left there spinning in cyberspace...

Or dangling conversations at the end of superceded threads. Like this.

Sometimes I look back at my comments and realize I was missing some point, answering the wrong thing, or otherwise f'ing up. And nobody mentions it. (Mind wonders: Nobody reads my comments? They're all laughing at me? Nobody cares? Etc.)

Then, sometimes, I see certain folks who seem to be in that state with every comment.
