I've been trying to lurk on the comments (h/t Maet for the post!), but I must be tired; the messages keep getting crossed in my head. What exactly did being a fluffer for Hillary have to do with artificially inseminated animals?

And with that, I hit the bed floor.

Goood night, Gracies.

One of the many things Milady & I discovered we had in common was appreciation for Have Gun Will Travel. I just watched in the browser up to the point where Boone first appears, but I'm downloading the whole thing for us to watch together later. We both said we never got to see it enough, and the series being hung up in litigation preventing re-runs or DVDs for years was a long wait.

There is a new really well-done fan-made show called Star Trek Continues, carrying on the original crew. The very first scene of the first episode has a (virtual reality) cowboy pointing his pistol in Kirk's face and saying those lines from the Have Gun opening. I knew I recognized them, but couldn't remember where from.

YAY! Pete Post! Uhhhhhhhhhh, wait—

Thong Thursday?

[ignore the screaming noise; it's just me]

Cruel, Pete, cruel. Others will surely need this Brain Bleach — originally formulated for Comics Curmudgeon website, but I think it will be just as effective here.

Not "signing" your work, if you're not worried about copyright, credit, etc., is hardly "neurotic." (Whether you're neurotic otherwise is 'nother bucket of beans.) There is the consideration that people can find more of your work if they like it, but others can track you down, too. It's not just tinfoil-hat paranoid nowadays to think that vigorously exercising one's right of self-expression on certain subjects might bring one a visit from Auntie IRS or Uncle FBI, much less the zombie horde who buzz and rankle at every chance. Conservative bloggers have been SWATted, harassed out of employment, and entangled in lawsuits, such as one intended to out the identity of Mr. of Spades. Did some Founders not find it prudent to publish anonymously lest the Royalists attack them and their families? Such similar times.

"Signing" any work is painting a target on oneself, as John Lennon learned, but insofar as the smaller the fish the less likely to be attacked then…

Alexa Worldwide Ranking + change in the last 3 months:
Drudge Report, #452, up 34
Ace of Spades, #35,779, up 2,876
PoliNation, #2,106,835, up 240,969
Mindful Webworks, #8,998,854, up 1,430,358

So, I shouldn't have to worry about the spotlight being too bright for a while, then, but that increase concerns me.
:)

Insomniac > You'll get nothing, and like it!

You fight hard for pure Constitutional nothin', but if that loses, party loyalty says we must settle for a lesser nothin'.

What?

Told you I had nothin'.

Morning, Glories.

Aside from soccer chatter, family feuding, and the trollish stuff, it's been a pleasant lurk this morning.

I obviously got nothin', but it's my nothin'.

So, since I've got nothing...

I was reviewing old comments today... remember when Ace had live links? Non-ASCII characters? Good times...

With no daily Pistol Pete’s post to attach items to, I feel lost, so looking where to post this, the “Redskins” article seemed appropriate for this cowboy tale:

___

Today I was searching images of the ol’ home town, and then going to the image sources. One picture led me to Old West Legends website, the story of Frank B. “Pistol Pete” Eaton – Fastest Draw in Indian Territory. I was well aware of Eaton, but learned a few new things, including that he once resided in m’ ol’ home town. The picture of him the year before he died is classic. What a character.

Our Pete may not have the full crazy mustache, but I like to think of our Pete this way in spirit: [Pistol Pete] “was known to always carry a pair of loaded Colt .45 pistols on his hips. In his own words he said his best insurance was: ‘Throwin’ a lot a lead fast and straight.’”

Chrissie, did you put those two photo-comparisons together? Whether you did nor not, they're great, thanks. The one with Gollum is just too close a resemblance.

___

Off-topic:

I don't know if you do this or not, chrissy, but, as you may know, all images have meta-fields for author, description, copyright, etc. and you should fill those in on your images when you can.

I don't always remember to do so, even after decades of on-line graphic creation and all kinds of scripts on my paint program to help me do it! But, see, if I'm wondering where an on-line image originated, I check the meta-info first (image properties are a right-click away on Opera browser). It sometimes reveals info. Filling in those fields on an image just might sometimes help identify images as yours when they get "borrowed un-credited," off-site.

When people copy and re-save images, also when our webware re-sizes images, that meta-info can get lost, but it's a good signature.

Sherry McEvil > I will cheerfully vote for Lankford, knowing that he will do a good job in DC, but, in my humble opinion, Shannon was a better choice for Conservatives.

Hi, neighbor.

Well, at least we get to keep Shannon.

We'll also get to find out how well Lankford listens. Let's give him a constant ear-full.

That the old machine backed Lankford and voters feel for it is a rebuke to the conservative Constitutional movement...?

Right. Now that the Tea Party is dead, Dems and DIABLOs can get back to raising taxes, spending drunkenly, and dismantling the American Dream.

And I wouldn't say Langford and Shannon were "indistinguishable on the issues," although it may look that way from down there in the swamps of D.C.

Although I'm not sure how good Langford will prove, it was a heckuva better couple of offered candidates than a lot of you seem to have had. Did not have tho hold my nose to vote.

Against the other Senator, the woman who claims the govt putt a chip in her head lost. Again. I've voted for her before, but want feeling as playful this time.

Morning, Glories? Am I just in time for the next thread?

Agreed, Lankford and Shannon were not indistinguishable. As much as I love Tom Coburn, it was a fair fight until he got on his high horse over outside ads and endorsed Lankford. The ads were true with regards to Lankford's vote, but, Coburn had spoken. Call me crazy, but, if you say that you are not going to pick your successor, then do not facking pick your successor. I will cheerfully vote for Lankford, knowing that he will do a good job in DC, but, in my humble opinion, Shannon was a better choice for Conservatives.

It just jumped to Langford 60% to Shannon 30% with.. two different colors of different size pies reporting. ???

Hope that's early urban results.

wheatie > Lankford also has zero charisma and looks like a concentration camp victim

Hahaha!

From my webpage comparing mailers from Lankford & Shannon
http://mindfulwebworks.com/radical/for-us-senator-from-oklahoma

"Let's face it, neither of these guys is a beauty.

"There's something off about the shape of Lankford's head, his eyes, his jaw, but it's hard to tell because the photo is so ill-lit, grainy, and washed out - or, who knows what kind of distortion his photo went through to end up looking like this.

"And Shannon, honestly, he looks kind-of like a goofy kid, with his oval face and ears sticking out. Shannon has a genuine, if slightly goofy, smile. Lankford's ghostly visage is unfortunately for him like a waxwork or zombie."

Milady and I just voted late and ones once. Never did get the hang of that early and often thing, even when we lived in Chicago.

We were voters 43 and 44 in our precinct. Out of 185. Kind of sad.

Don't know if Shannon will take Lankford or there will be a runoff in August. I hope Shannon wins, if only so Lankford will quit sending texts to my cell.

As I was working on the Hexadecimal Hillary video, I wondered if it was gratuitously disparaging - not that there's anything wrong with gratuitously disparaging; where would we be without, say, IOwnTheWorld's many wonderful gratuitously disparaging posters! - but it's not my style, you know, like not mocking the First "Lady's" unfortunate body type. It was when I got to the end and added the we came, we saw [not used], "he died [maniacal cackling]," I realized comparisons to Hexadecimal were not all that gratuitous.

As you catch a bit of in the video, in the ReBoot! series, Hexadecimal was shown always changing fixed, unmoving "emotion of the moment" masks, like the theater happy-sad masks, and she had no face of her own. Even more fitting.

Oh, also…

I'm glad I found your comment. Because you replied to your own reply (easy to do), it didn't show up on my "Wordpress Radar" drop-down list of replies to me in the upper-right corner. But I clicked through to the original page and found the thread.

So, I wonder, is there a list like the most-recent comments in the right sidebar, but for older comments, too? If I don't get here frequently enough, or if Pete posts a slew of replies to a Pete's Page post, the sidebar list scrolls and the only way I know to find out about other folks' comments on older posts would be to back through the posts.
