Morning, Glories. Nice to see all your bright shining... um... (squints at tiny screen) handles. ... Y'think avatars would ruin AoSHQ? Guess we'll find out when the new software rolls out in #twoweeks.

Sure seems to take a lot of work to get such a simple idea across to some folks. Much less all that hangs thereupon.

Good evening. Thanks, Maet.

Should you get that haircut? flowchart reminds me, I've been meaning to ask: Back a ways, there was a post, or something in a post, or in a comment, something about... am I being too vague?

Guys getting a haircut before tackling a new project, something like that. Anyone remember, much less got a link?

Googlied on "haircut site:ace.mu.nu" - 269 results. Narrowed to the past year, one result... Not what I was looking for, but DDR's "hobo bait" pic at the end of the July 19, 2013 ONT caught my eye.

The Ace of Spades hair salon did not help searching. Nor all the mentions of Hairy Reed.

I'll ckback in the a.m. Gotta z.

If and when you get to sleep, may it be deep, and restful.

I like you, grammie winger!

If I might advise just from a practical viewpoint, if you get more involved in anything demanding, do so gradually, as you can handle it. You're only human. Sometimes we take on new things, but too much too soon, especially so with the spiritually enthused, and we end up trying before we're ready to juggle too many flaming chainsaws. Then we burn out. Acclimatization is how we adjust and adapt.

"Republicans are worried that the proposal, which would transfer power to an international nonprofit group, could open the door to an Internet takeover by authoritarian regimes."

Some Republicans. And other folks.

America is as much as an authoritarian regime nowadays, but better the authoritarian regime you know than ... those other ones you know. You know?

"Does polar bear taste like brown bear?"

Seems t'me I read somewhere — probably here — about how, along the ice-woods fringes, polar and brown mutate back and forth. (Not mutate, really, just like rabbits going white or brown — sidewise adaptation.) That's where some polars "disappear." They're basically the same bear. So, presumably, they taste the same.

Like chicken, of course.

Oh, yeah, I gotta go get coffee....

Woke up and the house was in the mid-60s. Playing folk music and smoking menthols. Kicked the furnace back on, over its groaning objections. I'd hoped, by mid-April, it might be off for the summer. But, no.

As we got home last night, Milady says she forgot to bring coffee. It's only been on the shopping list for days.

Although our daughter's friend's hens are laying again, the delivery chain has problems and the eggs aren't here, either.

And there's no bacon.

Then I dropped the cell, and it lost the net for several minutes, along with my blazingly brilliant first comment of the day you'll never get to see now. It was about Hillary!

I had a cup of some awful sweet instant stuff, and at least we had some pancakes left over from yesterday, so it's not all bad. But I think I'd better run in and get some real coffee.

Weird. Almost feels like Monday.

Morning, Glories. Jesus bless the horde this week with truth, and just enough wisdom to stay Morons.

Well, isn't this a post full of.. what are they called... words?

The KITTEH (not that ghey when you shout it, see?) pic was an amazing demonstration of why animals' camouflage works; that which you can't imagine in a zoo. "How could they not see him coming? He's all spotty!"

Once again, I'm not sure how the stats work, but I see I'm not in them, so I'd like to thank my agent, my publicist, and my highly variable IP address at home. [[blows kisses, weeps like a Speaker of the House]] *snjff*

Two videos for your ... enlightenment.

First, I found this after getting lost in the darker realms of yootoob:
Grounds for Impeachment- Michelle Obama Is A Transvestite! http://youtu.be/JArEsg4tErA

I don't know why the guy thinks this has anything to do with impeachment. And I don't know anyone who would want to actually, you know, check for sure. (He suggests Boener do it, I think.) But, you know, the guy is whack, but... have you seen how she walks?

Second, something I tried to do timely for the movie's release but didn't get done until now. Oh, well.

Very intriguing chart. The price decline so steady, but for that one unfortunate bump, after which the decline resumed, until... hmm.. right after the Bush administration. Must be his fault, then.

"I'm pretty sure the two most powerful beings in the universe could actually see all of the nations, literally."
—ghost of...

I would not debate interpretations of scriptural literalism regarding what Jesus told his apostles, who knew nothing of cosmology. Rather, let me try to explain my own thinking on it thusly:

It's a great big universe, and we're all really puny. We're just tiny little specks, about the size of the late Mickey Rooney. It's big, and black, and inky. And we're all really dinky. It's a big universe, and its God's.

"verse that speaks of Christ that contains '...who was in all ways tempted as we are.'"

Yup, and a few we'll never face.* Doesn't mean he faced temptation and persecution "throughout his lifetime."

A niggling matter. I'll cut the Pope some slack for his first papal Easter season's enthusiasm. Hyperbole is not the same as untruthiness, is it?

*Devil showed Jesus all the nations? I suspect that was metaphor Jesus employed explaining to 1st Century AD understanding. Nowadays, we can understand the territory in question was probably considerably more... cosmic.

A reminder. Sunday is a good time to replace that pocket lint-infested tape over the cell cam lenses.

I prefer a "freezer tape" bandage with a "pad" of a small square of paper (color post-it notes are handy) cut to fit over the lens. Smaller version on the front. Remember, you want translucent, not opaque, because some functions derive from luminance level.

Mindful brand cell lens bandages on sale soon. Or not.

Also, to block audio, you need a dummy plug with four contacts. Any fewer, and Bob and Edna at the NSA can still hear you. Hi, Bob. Hi, Edna.

And when possible, keep GPS off. In fact, when possible, power the damned thing off. In fact, throw the whole spying mark of the beast device away!

Uh... sorry. Got carried away. Keep calm and carry on.
