@Ed Anger, first thing I did on my Android was load Opera Mini. Never use anything else.

Now & then locks up, but not enough to get to me, and I'm easily got to. Phone prob has low mem limits.

Sometimes won't cut/copy from some sites' pages, but there's a kludge. Search with... then copy from address bar. Tedious but effective.

Also, on mine, curiously, when in landscape mode, The Opera mini keyboard lacks the arrow keys. There's space for them, they just don't appear.

Other than that, seems to integrate with the cell okay.

»»We're off to purchase a vintage wooden high chair for the GrandGirl this day. I don't do plastic.
Posted by: ALH

We had a daughter. And a classic wooden high chair.

Then, we had twin boys. Fischer-Price easy-remove trays for the win. Plastic is a godsend.

Like the diapers. With daughter, it was cloth diapers (delivery service- talk about a godsend!) and Velcro-closure diaper covers (although I do know how to work the safety-pin method). But, with twin boys, even radical green eco-freaks will turn to disposables. (Not counting the no-diapers weirdos.)

Waiting for grandkids.

"...Psalm 104 is a poetic summary of God's creation of the world as found in Genesis 104."

??? Apparently, my King James is missing a few chapters. Are those the ones where they explain Nod?

ha! if any comment brought on a morning thread, out would be Fenelon's!

I may have spent more time in Psalms, and Proverbs, than even the Gospels. (Not to suggest I spend "enough" time with scripture at all.) Probably because they're so easy to find. I just crack my ol' King James right in the middle.

Congratulations to Soldier of the Light Carol, for her unwitting thwarting of the forces of darkness. May your reward be abundant!

And now, by the power invested in me by Murphy, overlord of unfortunate coincidence, I declare it time for a dewey-fresh morning thread!

(I'll bet it's too early for that to work; maybe if I go feed the pesks....)

J.J. Sefton's Clinton Coincidences list: The airport is Mena, IIRC, although "mean" may be descriptive.

Haven't finished the list yet. Did you get the kids who had info on Mena, shotgunned themselves, then at least one laid himself on the tracks so the train could decapitate him? So many creative suicides among the Clintons' contacts! Must be very unhappy people.

Seriously - realize that this - murder and intrigue that would shock Herod - is how much of "politics" really works. God help us. No wonder the RINOs are all drunk.

Capt America review didn't really clarify if this was a regressive Cap or the patriotic one. I await the Moron reviews.

As a lifelong Jack Kirby fan, I really enjoyed seeing his characters realized so well on the big screen after so many decades, even if the use they're put to might sometimes make his corpse spin. The Howlers were a particular hoot to see in Cap I, but just pointed up the insanity of the retro'd and therefore absent Sgt. Fury - but them's just old fanboy concerns. Not an era for WWII-set Howling Commandos Netflix series, but that would've been interesting.

It's looking like, for the foreseeable future, Capt America (first one) will remain the last film I saw in a theater.

Really? I like to have that first cup of coffee, read a little, maybe post a hello comment, before the pesks get fed. Otherwise, they might think they're in charge.

Orrrr... maybe they understand if I try to feed them before I'm ready, heaven only knows what might end up in their bowls!

Speaking of search engines, I confess I had to fall back frequently on Evildoer Google in the construction of Time Traveler's Conundrum, a dark science-fiction saga in six cartoon panels. Loosely based on a true comment left on this very forum. Nicked in Link. For when you run out of anything else to look at on the web. How CAN one completely de-Google-ize?

Avoid the search engine, except they've got the best picture search, I think, and I use that a lot. I haven't given Bing a full comparison on that score, but, but Bing's just MS instead of Google. And I'd like to de-MS-ize, as well, right?

Then there's YouTube. Everything's on YouTube. Easy to access, embed, and did I mention everything's on YouTube. If it's not, it's a hassle. And guess who owns YouTube. Go on, guess.

Then there's Google Statistics. I've got that attached to my website. Beats the built-in stats for the website management software, but, but, that's the very heart of the matter, Google stats and their use, right?

Then I got this cell, and it's based on .. hm.. something called Android. Who's that? MS? Apple? IBM? NoNoNo, it's... guess who, again! Monitoring your every keystroke. How handy voice-to-text is.

How does one starve a beast that big?

Using Opera 12.x on the desktop and Opera Mini on the cell. Haven't used anything else since a brief search after Netscape became unusable. I do have Chrome and IE loaded on the desktop. Never got into Firefox. Still waiting for someone to come up with a good browser...

Alternative search engines ixquick and dogpile, both recommended on here. ixquick keeps minimal records on you. So they say. Hey, great, what's the URL on those? It wouldn't be ixquick.com and dogpile.com, would it?

When I looked up at our delightful sunset, I saw three contrails all pointing toward the same area out west, presumably that thar military base.

When I hear military jets roar overhead, I smile, knowing that's some local lads learning and enjoying. Smile's become a bit wan in recent years, but still, keeping the peacetime.

I think, it is not so in much of the world, that one hears a jet and does not fear.

Mrs asked about any new news of the Ft Hood shooting.

I wondered if Ivan the drunk and depressed had heard about, possibly in the crossed wires of his mind been inspired by, the search for the jihadi wannabe.

Milady remarked, "It's a drag when you try to commit suicide by police, and none of the police are armed."
