In the absence of true theological understanding, estranged from the mainstream of apostolic messaging, bereft of a supportive congregation, the Spirit still cries to the soul; there can still be idealism, belief in that which can be known but not shown, an unrecognized but perhaps still saving child-like faith.

3. cthulhu, thanks for the link to Joffen's obituary. Sadly, I feel I know more about him now that I know about almost anyone here. I feel I would have liked to have a hearty debate with him on some subjects, and maybe talk about a shared love of Superman and comics. Siiiigh.

Despised all the folks who helped elevate him to office and proceeded to destroy government and installed himself as absolute dictator, all to the adulation of his enchanted fans.
Seemed strangely familiar.
(Ironically, the US President was a rock-jawed hardass take-charge guy. (Who got killed off, of course (and stayed killed off even after the death of billions of people was reversed.)))

AGH! Cannot be unseen. I knew the Barrel was bad, but I never knew it was madness-inducing!
I don't know I Ace gets any pennies for click-throughs on his ads, but quite often I find I've punched up an ad instead of a link. So, even though I just close the tab, I hope they count it in his favor.

I got to wondering this morning, just how insulated is he, really? Does he know what a world-wide laughingstock he has become? Does he yet understand how thoroughly disgusted folks, even many in his cult, jare becoming with him? And if he did know, would it matter?
