Funny world. My trusty old KJV sits easily within arm's reach but I can find Rev 21 much faster searching Bible Gateway... and multiple versions, not just KJV. Keeps me from wearing out those delicate ricepaper pages, but dust on the Bible looks bad. 
Theologically speaking it goes either of two ways.

I agree with you about the cake and how a Christian should respond. It's something along the lines of Matthew 5:41 "If someone compels you to go a mile, go two miles with them.".
Re my previous, since I spoke to Christian living, I should add that more than one person has told me I'm no Christian.
But many of my friends are. 
A true Christian will not make a toxic cake.
A true Christian would not make an inferior cake.
A true Christian would render unto Caesar by making a good cake.
Then deliver that cake with the message that it is filled with Christian love. blessings, and a superabundance of prayers for their salvation from sin.
Then, a cynical-minded Christian would quietly chuckle thinking of all the things the partiers would imagine that meant about the contents of the cake. But not mean-spiritedly.
It's not about the cake, of course, but if the devil can use it so can the angels.
Theology matters.

Monotheism and morality are not scientifically meaningful, but are both reasonable and, to my thinking, the Inevitable Conclusion, philosophically and theologically.
Intelligence, personality, souls of survival value... I would not deny the Almighty the possibility of any kind of generation of children.
Thus, if we can create true self-aware intelligence in our electronic brains, perhaps they will recognize that conclusion as I do, and far more swiftly than any of us get to it, and then, being of superior processing power unbounded by animal-minded urges, they will live morally and reflect the reality of faith-driven life.
Also, the extraterrestrials are friendly.
Okay, I'm done talking to myself in the olde threade.
