Seeing that MPPPPP has let us all down again, I searched out Mark Evanier's great story, for a different kind of Hollyweird insider tail.

Oh, and... Good Morning!

"... listening to some young women talk about how they didn't want to take a future hisband's last name, because female Equality." -Bevel Lemelisk

I'm proud of my patrilinear last name. Goes back to the roots of this nation.

My wife's partilinear family name apparently was made up by her father's mother because long story, but my wife's family was a big, proud Irish-Catholic family and she was justly proud if the name.

So we hyphenated the family name, mine first usually and each go by our own or hyphenated, but mostly each our own.

My mother-in-law was known by her sister's name because ling story and my wife's given name was the same as her mother's common married name, making her a 2nd (not Jr. please).

When our first was born, we named her after her mother, burdening her with being a III. She's had no real problems with that; fewer than with her nickname.

Our boys got my last name.

Defying cultural norms? Yeah. Confusing to some? He!! yeah. A relative declared I had "disowned" my daughter!

Don't like our family naming conventions? Call 1-800-None of your business.

If he's saying American Blacks own 'ax' (ask), culturally, no argument. Another great one is 'skrimp' (shrimp)... I think it was MadTV had the funny skit with a refined black guy and his ghettospeaking date ordering dinner.

O'course, it's one thing to employ colloquialisms and jargon, another to be truly ignorant and not know the common parlance. I may use 'y'all' or 'tump over' in certain company, but I know how to speak more betterer than that if I need to.

Past time to feed my little four-footed buddies. I'll leave a standee of me by the buffet while I'm gone, so carry on normally. Okay, it's really an Indiana Jones standee but I have a hat kinda like that.

I just counted ~60 have linked from AoS to my Time mag Hillary cover parody. Cool. I'm not hungry for hits, but if you think the work helps undermine HRC, feel free to pass along the link, or re-post the graphic to folks. I suppose I ought to label all my stuff thusly. I just presume folks will steal it if they want to, just like I do.

It's almost identical! "Claudius Smith" is probably even a White Hispanic, and Ricardo Sanes was just looking in windows on his way to buy some Skittles.

Is /sarc necessary?

Couldn't stand CFLs, so instead of incandescents, I decided to do the whole house in neon.

Nice enough, but it always feels like I'm at a bar. Or Times Square pre-tv billboards.

Didja ever open some link from here in a background tab, without waiting to see it to load, and then later you go to the tab wondering, what's this? oh, my! Jessica Negri!?!

I generally don't like surprises... but they're rarely pleasant.

Hemp rope is not reusable; you have to cut the noose off. -RickZ

But hemp should be cheap, so why bother cutting the noose - just bury 'em with it. Makes a nice statement, especially at an open casket funeral.

Aaaand, that's how I start my day? okay.

Good morning, glories.

What are this?
An OverNight Thread,
Just as I'm thinking
I'll head for bed?

Well, first I'll
read/view/watch the post.
(Thank you,
CDR M, our host.)

If still awake
when that is through,
might scan a comment,
even two.

Of course, then there's
a chance that I
Might find some
reason to reply

To someone else's
thoughts on board,
Then hang around
here with the horde

To bask in the
camaraderie
Until I realize
It's Three!

I've passed the night
in comment creep!
So, now, I've
no time left for sleep,

Since shortly
after that, I'll need
to see what
Vic thinks I should read,

Plus, what the
morning crew will say
and link to,
at the start of day.

Just when I think,
I'll leave this place,
I hit refresh,
and there's the Ace!

That's when I know
I'm running late,
but can't leave now.
Real life can wait.

And so on.
Here we are, dear friends,
trapped on
