Senator Inhofe voted against the budget bill, but Coburn cast no vote. Wondering about that.

Reps. Tom Cole and Frank Lucas voted for the bill while Reps. Jim Bridenstine, Markwayne Mullin and James Lankford voted against it.

Our boy Bridenstine, and next-door neighbor Mullin! Cole and Lucas districts are the Capitol and south to Texas, respectively. They think differently down there.

My commitment to the people of Oklahoma has always been that I would serve no more than two terms. Our founders saw public service and politics as a calling rather than a career. That's how I saw it when I first ran for office in 1994, and that's how I still see it today. I believe it's important to live under the laws I helped write, and even those I fought hard to block.

Thanks for the link to Dr Coburn's statement, NDH.

I was just about to write, @rickl, was that you posted the link to the pyramid-building video, um, (?) this morning? Finally got to see it this evening, and that was pretty neat.

I was about to write that... when I followed Weirddave's link.. which was to the same video.

It's some kind of synchronicity thing. Think I'll go buy a lottery ticket.

I WAS A MIDDLE-AGED LANDLORD

Fourteen years as a Chicago landlord. Good at it, which mainly involves finding good folks who know how to live in apartments together, and good folks who know how to fix things, and transfer the wealth from the former to the latter. Glad to provide good housing for those who rent. Never took Sec 8. I knew we weren't charging enough when a financial person looked at our rents and called my wife the Mother Teresa of Uptown. 95% nice & mostly-grateful tenants. Couple of arseholes & slackers, but that's the percentages. Extremely glad not to be doing it.

Harvey Weinstein: I'm Unclear on the Constitution and Would Like to Lose a Lot of Money

Thassa funny headline!

As I said this morning, I'm sure it'll be as big a hit as Lone Survivor uh-huh.

Homeless man vs Your Cat

Well, but then there's...

Cat: Purrs, sits in lap, uses catbox, catches vermin.
Bum: Mumbles, drools on you, uses foyer, carries vermin.

Bath Festival

That was... quite a bill! Lessee... saw Zappa a couple times. Caught Led Zep in the 2nd album era, I think. Beyond that it gets a little fuzzy... I know 3 Dog Night was in there somewhere... might have been why my girlfriend and I broke up.

A late good evening from the wilds of Pixelvania, Peruvia, where the weather is always as pure as a Communist Industrial Paradise.

"Huckabee says we shouldn't use the term RINO any more."

When he removes that horn from his own face...

I propose a new term. - DIABN - name & acronym may need some refinement, but
DEMOCRAT IN ALL BUT NAME.

I'd really prefer to replace Name with something that had the initials LO, though.

Mean Hollyweird anti-NRA Streep flick -- why, I'll bet it's every bit as big a hit as Lone Survivor!

On this sad day in 1919 the United States ratified the Eighteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution, authorizing Prohibition in the United States one year later.

I've always hoped someday we'd learn from the history of America between the 18th and the 21st.

Oh, and...

Some expert like Poppins may correct me, but if I recall my film history, those older movies were filmed at "about" 18fps, where the modern standard later became 24fps. If you don't interleave 6 frames every second, you see, it won't look right, it looks fast.

Besides that, it was "about" 18fps. Early hand-cranked cameras didn't always work at a constant pace.

So, Dack Thrombosis at January 15, 2014 11:25 PM may have been misled by technology.

Hey, Beevis! I said "hand-cranked!"

Me & the dear wife watched a little video, then I checked back over the discussions. Fortunately not moving too fast tonight, but now I have to go away.

First, though...

Back at #33, I joked about our "wacky old Army Sgt turned Naturapath." I just thought I should be clear that despite a deep and abiding suspicion of anyone (other than dear wife the miracle worker) who purports to know anything about sickness and health, I have loads of respect for the man and even some suspicion his patent medicine might be on to something. Just FTR, y'know?
