Is this still on? I forced myself to sleep late, and the cats even seemed patient with the delays; it's that cold!

So I missed the opening thread and came directly here. There were 30 comments when I loaded this thread, but then...

I went back to scan the early morning for Vic. No Vic, but good stuff. Bit that got me to go back & finish the overnight.

ONT was a hoot. Svens all the way down. Then, suddenly, a moron friendship outreach exhibition. My favorite is the "accidental" voice conference connection. Don't exactly believe in accidents in some instances.

So, I'm back to here. What a trip. And, its still cold, but sunny.

Excitement is too much. I feel faint.

design a building - I once expressed a career aspiration to mom; she told me architects don't make money. I've designed a few places anyway....

write a sonnet - my college prof said I had no poetry in me, but I know when a pentameter is iambic.

balance accounts - can. ... need to...

build a wall - done it

set a bone - nope

comfort the dying - don't know how comforting I was, but....

take orders, give orders - done both in various roles, school of hard knocks

cooperate, act alone - prefer the former, too much of the latter

solve equations - they said there'd be no math

analyze a new problem - every hour, every day...

pitch manure - done that

program a computer - a touch of machine code on a z80, lots of utility BASIC et many al code

cook a tasty meal - after 40 yrs with the master chef, I've learned a bit

fight efficiently - efficiently. I like that. thus far in life, walking away, ducking, and a big stick have avoided most confrontations

die gallantly - if need be, I'll give it a go, but I'd rather go peacefully in my sleep...

You are correct. If I'd thought of it, I would've used that. However, importantly, "redundant" doesn't tee up any "moron" puns.

Sven10077 - Great heavens! Two comments 109 & 115 that, not only did my translator microbes actually appear to be functioning, I'm tempted to say, you're on a tear / on a roll / en fuego. I read 109 first paragraph and thought, well, if we hadn't destroyed our industrial base... to which you allude in the next 'graph. My next thought was, well, the education wars... then I got to "Underwater Basketweaving Lesbian Grievance Studies."

Lay down the law about health & cleanliness. Find wholesome, required family activities. Smack the smirk off. And get help now, you're already in deep trouble. Remember, you pay the rent & board & allowance.

I did none of the above, so I'm not speaking from experience. I respected our kids' space and privacy, anticipated their having the wisdom to tell good friends from bad, patiently endured the rebelliousness. Boy. was I dumb. I'm advising you to do otherwise for testing purposes. Let me know how it works....

When I awoke, the moon on the crest of the new-fallen snow gave the luster of daylight to objects below. Now the sun is up, somewhere behind the clouds, and I can see fog rising over the pasture.

For those who aren't seeing enough snow of their own, I tooked a picher. Might be a little blurry. Need to clean the tape gum off the lens.
