I spent yesterday writing scripts in a language I barely know for a program that's a decade old. I enjoy the exercise and education, but dislike the time consumed at the low end of the leaning curve, when all I really want is just the finished script to be working.

Ran aground on something it seemed I couldn't do, but I know I can, because there's (almost) always a workaround.

Programming is purely mathematical, precise, as close to perfect as we get, hardware working and the lectricity stays on.

Small wonder certain parties cannot implement useful code.

I fondly remember Dad coming in to relay to my brother and me what progress NORAD reported, as we tried to go to sleep on Christmas Eve. Really fun. (I miss my Dad, 45 years gone.)
