Isn't marijuana more carcinogenic than tobacco?
Posted by: alexthechick

The 10¢ fact sheet from one who has done a tad of study and also created Head Shop Comix.

Pot alone may have more carcinogenic-like irritants yet seems not to cause as much damage. Proponents claim it also contains cancer inhibitors. Tobacco is rarely 'pure', cigs containing many nasty additives. Pot is deep-lunged, tobac usually throated (so I'm informed), and the ritual patterns for consumption are different. A casual weekend pot smoker is probably at a lot less risk than a chain nic smoker. All-day bong hitters, maybe the same as. Overall, psychological effects aside, pot is probably less physically harmful, in the general population.

Which may be informative for personal recreational substance choices, but the relative effects & consequences ought have nothing to do with repeal of unConstitutional prohibitions and regulations!

Y'all jus' keep on talkin' 'bout Obamacare. Remember, it's Obama's. Obama's. Nothing to do with me, a private citizen completely uninvolved with them, those incompetent losers. Wouldn't a woman President be great?

The Plural of Anecdote is not Data. - Sham 'n Freud

I've not previously seen the principle thus phrased. A keeper.

While Berkeley's proposal is among the toughest in the nation, it's lenient in at least one regard: It does not include marijuana. That would be permitted anywhere.

There is no consistency, no principle behind these kinds of tyranny. This is an excellent demonstration. It's not regarding personal liberty to smoke what you want, nor about the personal responsibility for your smoke being in the other guy's face. It's pick and choose from those based on the substance - it's dogma.

Last night Obama threatened to veto the "Keep Your Health Plan Act" a/k/a the Upton bill that the House is going to vote on today.

I hope so. Let him veto everything until a supermajority veto-proof repeal.

And may children today remember TFG's first name as "Impeached." "Disgraced" would also do nicely. "Executed Traitor" might be asking too much, but we can try.

Say, this is a nice, barely-used thread. Can we hijack it for a morning thread?

Good cover story. As I said in the ONT where you're being discussed...

My suspicion is some top-secret SEAL stuff Vic couldn't tell us about or he'd have to... you know.

"Wonder if that's the new grandbaby?"

IIRC, Vic said recently he had the due date wrong, it's sometime in December, so, prob not.

Can we survive a few days without Vic? Of course. We can also survive a few days without food, but it's not pleasant.

Happy trails, Vic.

Yup. Same here. Pleasant temperatures, though, so, earthly comfort rather than celestial display. Given the choice....

A Southwestern simpleton like me could never have found his way into the City life, but it was my wife's native land, and while raising the young'n's, we had her street smarts, her much extended family, got to enjoy the parks and museums at uncrowded times, lived well.

Amazing what one can put up with.

But as the kids got older and the extended family drifted away, and the city and state spiraled out of control, we couldn't find a way out fast enough.

And the landlording tales I could tell...!

(Seem t'have the place t'myself.)

I grew up in the prairies and spread-out, sunshiney life of the South-West. Old cities with their cramped, dark breezeways and walkups felt like a prison from a past century.

Then, somehow, I spent fourteen years managing and living in those crowded walkups, and raising our children - initially - among them.

I could never go back. But there was one thing, in the early days, that made Big City apartment life livable. Diaper service.

??? One of us, I deem, is unclear. Maybe 'you had to be there.'

Daughter frequently has conversations with young people who buy into the Green propaganda and are stunned to hear windmills slaughter eagles, etc. I was adding the solar panels as bird friers to her argumentative arsenal.

UN to outlaw Killer Robots - UK Telegraph via Drudge

Oh, man! Now, none of those miserably oppressed citizens of UnitedNations will be able to own killer robots. I'm glad I don't live there, but here in a Constitutional Republic which does not infringe upon the right to keep and bear arms.*

Her reply--
