And DST was instituted to save on whale oil.
Local time would be a hoot. Totally possible now, with digital linked-up clocks that know where they are. But then, then, after the EMPs....
That reminds me: I have three house and one auto clock to adjust.
The pickup's clock was always on Standard Time. Because I can't not adjust my wristwatch anymore, since I quit wearing one, I resist tyranny in the truck.

Always funny to me when alleged or self-described Constitutional conservatives don't see the fingers of unConstitutional governance for what they are. Welfare, prohibitionism, public transportation, government schools, so broadly accepted, tolerated, even expected, by ignorant citizens, are all creeping (sometimes hustling) socialism.
So, please help stop tyranny - Sign the Petition to Get Government out of our Clocks! End Daylight Savings Time!
Y'know, as long as I'm tilting at windmills, Repeal Time Zone Designations altogether! Bring back God's accurate Local Time!

Looking at my YouTube stats, I was surprised to see a spike just before Halloween. The surge was several dozen hits (which is viral for little ol' youtube.com/mindfulwebworker's uploads).
Near as I can discern, most of that was a little vid I did back in May, "Familiar Voices," which overlays (among others) Hogan's Heroes' Sgt Schultz's "I see nothing" voice on Eric Holder testifying.
The viewing spike was apparently generated by people, all over the country, independently searching for some variation of Hogan's Heroes and Sgt Schultz... and sometimes also Obama.
Make of it what you will.
