"gawd, Americans are a bunch of wimpering, offended simps nowadays, aren't we?" -Lady in Black
Er... some of THEM can be. Too many, agreed.
'Round Hyar, folks dress as cowboys and Indians, year 'round, 'cause they are. O'course, except for ceremonies, the Indians dress like cowboys, 'cause they are.
Outside of town. In town, idiots.
in case prev comment seemed off the wall, book was in the photo up top.
Reading back up-thread ...
"He could never get the Marine out of him...."
And we're grateful that's true so often!
Hey, I read Misquoting Jesus.
Fairly good intro to scriptural research.
Tragically, the author started out as an inerrantist, and as he uncovered the human fingerprints all over the Bible, he lost his faith along with his naivete.
Fundamentalists, if your faith isnt strong, don't get into geology or scriptural scholarship!
Seen a morning thread 'round here today?
333 is 1/2 way to u no wot
250 comments and counting. But have we won yet?

Video playlist. NB: I haven't even watched 'em all yet.
But the lead one is good: Dog saves soldier, soldier saves dog.
And the last one, Mark Dice gets folks to sign the petition for a Nazi-style Orwellian police state, because, budget cuts.
Now, I can't stay and play, but I left a big pack of those wafer cookies on the buffet. And a six-pack (sorry, all I could afford) of your favorite beer.
Cookie responsibly!
I want to apologize to Nigeria for saying that the Obamacare was like a Nigerian Scam, which it is, but what I meant to say was, the Obama administration is like the Somali Pirates!
Good morning, good people of Peruvia.
Yesterday, we caught a cat, seemingly feral, which had been hanging around at the office in town, and we took it to the shelter. I feel crummy. In 20 yrs, here on the ranch, we've had dozens of cats, never took one to the shelter. Must admit, never faced a feral one before. We're about maxxed out on cats already, with a delicate domestic balance.
But he went from wild & free to caged & stacked in Scary Jail. He needed to be caught, but maybe we should've taken him to the vet & just released him out here, regardless. I'm unsure whether we did the right thing, and thinking of the big-headed yellow guy with the pretty swirled-patterns stuck in that place, I has a severe sad. He f'd up; he trusted us.
Video linked in nic, 2nd production attempt, almost final - being a collage of vids & pix from Wash.D.C. Sunday before last.
:!
Frustrated trying to vid-edit with my Paleolithic processor, I finally began looking at computers yesterday. Oboy! I could move 'up' to Win8! It has an XP mode, right? :/
Off to feed the cats & dog. Pass along the vid link if you think anyone would like it. Other than the horde, the netiverse doesn't know I or my webwerx exist. And I'm not sure about the horde. (gulp)

Hi, nightowls; fwiw, linked in nic, a 2nd, but still not-quite-final release of a vid compilation of scenes from the Million Vet March.
Uploaded anyway, because, who knows, I may never get the final version done.
It's like, eat desert first; you may not live through dinner, right?
Darn. Now I want pie.

Why We Give? Y-not!?!
I like a headline that answers its own question.
Srsly u gyz, it's diabolical how on Bizarro Planet, one* would question why one would give, rather than ask why one would not. Old story. "All the foundations of the earth are out of course." Ps82 http://bit.ly/kjvps82
*A bunch of those "ones" add up to "them," as in, "they say...."
A former chief of staff of a Democratic Florida congressman, convicted in a voter-fraud scheme, will be hung by the neck until dead, in the public square.
/alternate universe where 'traitor' is a bit more broadly defined and punishment as a deterrent is appreciated
Hizzonah Mayor Richard J Daley would've eaten Rahm Emmanual for lunch, with TFG for desert.
That's what my just-awakened brain compelled me to note. Compelled! On my own I would just say,
Hi, all. Cool but pleasant morning here, waiting for Mr Sun.
I found the kitteh in the classroom!
Good news for the Spite House:
TFG's ratings still above Nixon's.
In further news, I think maybe I can't take going to the dentist quite as well as I used to.
I knew you'd want to know that.
I can't imagine having the time to read all the links in the post and 300 comments. So, hm, I'll read one link and, uh, every 50th comment. Or, no, I'll build a program that will scan the blog and display comments at random. GAH! ::brain melts:: And the dentist didn't even use larfing gas.
Hello and goodnight, good folks, one and all.
Sure, warn about blow dryers in the shower,
and warn about toasters in the bathtub,
but did you warn me about toasters in the shower?
Nooooo!
I awoke from sleep with a compulsion to relay this to the horde on board...
Lapdances are free in Lapland.
I have no idea why.
Also, weirdly, I smell apple pie.
Well, my work here is done. Back to sleep.
Hello, bookies. Just passing through, to drop off a book-lover's horror story reading recommendation, Purp's comment from the ONT about valuable old books & iggerent relations.

Gun thread up : Vic
that was fast, Vic. I just checked.
Well, I've got Stuff To Do. Later, horde of heroes!
Pardon a repost from the ONT...
John McAfee explains how 404ware will drain bank accounts (pins the dot-Indian programmers just like somebody here did a while back). Also describes his new upcoming toy for NSA-proof communication. #sixmonthstoayear he says (he should live that long).*

Might as well add, that vid leads off my latest radical playlist. Includes Pat Condell, Mark Dice, Wild Bill & more.
http://mindfulwebworks.com/radical/playlists/2013-10-19
& a recent webwork vid I did linked in my nic, unfinished edit, pix & vids from last Sunday. Because.
*Of course, we must remember, this is the same John McAfee who gave these instructions for removing McAfee virusware:

"Filmation was a pretty low-ball outfit, one step below Hanna-Barbera on the limited-animation scale"
But Trek was the best cartoon adaptation of a live series, ever, and the first sign the franchise could continue. Alien-looking aliens, original actor voices, good writers, Gerrold even wrote a tribbles episode. And like Rocky & Bullwinkle, all that more than makes up for low frame rate. I think they're considered canon by many Trekkers, too!
Filmation will always be remembered for that.
Where are we now? New thread since I fed the pets & paused to comment?
Anniversary of Stat Trek.
Know why I passed over the premiere? TV Guide told me it would be like Lost in Space, the premiere of which I had watched with anticipation of serious SF and, ultimately, profound disappointment.
Probably just as well. I didn't start off with the Salt Monster.
