Yestermorn, I attempted a joke. Nevergiveup (and who knows how many else) mistook my meaning, how I'm not sure, but at least one other person did too, at first reading.

Over thirty years of online communication, I've often seen correspondents' meanings 'passing each other in the night.' Once in a rare while, I've been able to discern where two people misunderstood one another, and intervene in incipient flamewarring.

Short lesson, Be willing to imagine you didn't hear/read aright! As the Boyfriend said to his Girlfriend, if I say something, and by one interpretation I seemed mean or hurtful, I meant the other one. At our house, the code is 'the other hand.'

I once had an online conversation stall out because I mistook my correspondent's use of the word 'typing.' My wife read through the discussion and she and I had the same confusion until she finally realized I was thinking 'keyboard entry' and the other fellow meant STEREOtyping. Durrrrrr.

Good morning, citizens & aliens.

I've made an Important Discovery! If I leave my cell Elsewhere overnight, the morning alarm (if it rings but only a cat is around to hear it, does it ...) deactivates itself. Not just quits; deactivates.

Now, usually I'm up an hour before my alarm. Why not this one morning? Because, no alarm? Weird.

If Our Father in Great Mercy grants a life after this, after I ask the angels who killed Kennedy, I have a few questions about the design and functioning of these mortal bodies & brains.... for the children.

Fortunately, the cats awaking me only cost a small part of a littlle finger.
