When I went to his place to defend myself, he was, unsurprisingly, illogical, ignorant and rude.

I can't speak for anyone but myself, but Jesus' promise of return has no personal transformative effect.

Sonship with our Father, a life of service in fellowship and idealism, those kind of inspirations have a tad more influence. Oh, yeah, and knowing about that merciful forgiveness thing is also very inspiring to forgiving others. And a certain whopping big inspiration to endure what comes, in faith. Possibility of afterlife is a nice bonus, Dad willing.

I think it's pretty cool, Jesus returning, especially in power and glory, but I don't expect it'll be any time real soon. Whatevs, though. It will be a day in the life. So will tomorrow.
