The glory of young men is their strength: and the beauty of old men is the grey head. -Proverbs 20:29

I got nothin' but that. And this re-run from back when the Lena Dunham thing first came out.

The endurance of those tropes and ideas, the universal attraction of such figures, reflects the search of the human heart to connect with God; every person has an in-born knowledge of what a perfect "hero" like Christ must be, and the love of fantastic stories speak to fallen man's search for that better ideal and world. -Hal

Which is why it's such a travesty when heroes of modern fiction are crassly commercialized, not commercialized per se, but when hands take over, and the icon acts "out of character," doesn't keep the heroism, idealism, and nobility of character, that makes all "powers" meaningless.

Of course, increasingly, it seems, few can even write a compelling drama, much less craft an inspiring heroic character.

We'll always have Frodo. (Book, not movie.)

That's all I knew of. Ted Cruz is a fool but cutie pix are powerful politics. I've got it.

Wait... no I don't.

PS. I can't keep up with the code all the young'n's use nowadays, but wouldn't that be nommification?

Or is nom good and num bad? (e.g. "Nom, nom, nom" said the 'ette vs. "Henh! Henh! Num nums!" wheezed the old pervert.)

And is bad still good or is bad bad again?

Just peeked in. Not likely to read all 400+ comments...

"You see @BarackObama wallop you today?"

Oh, wow! No, I didn't! I've been out of touch. What did I miss? This sounds terrible!

Did he one-up Cruz by reading My Two Mommies on CSpan to his daughters?

"In many areas, during off-peak hours lights are synchronized so that a vehicle traveling at some particular speed almost never gets one."

1968, I figured out I could drop the girlfriend off on 4th and cruise down Sheridan at either 5mph under, or (my pref) 5mph over the limit, and hit all the greens, sometimes even the just-turned-yellows, all the way to the highway.

First I heard from the lovely Mrs this morning was, "Do you have a bug cup?" Clear plastic cups with hand-painted bug and a hard square of cardboard, limited edition available soon at the mindful store.

It was a good-size garden spider. She said it had been under Jack the Cat's bedside pillow. I escorted him outside with a warning not to return.

Just life in the country. Don't know why I thought some here might enjoy reading about that.

(Garden spiders and Daddy Longlegs get the bug cup. Most other spiders, the houseslipper.)

I'm no wiz, but I program a little. I'm cobbling up a utility program and yesterday got bogged down trying to figure out Unicode characters in an xml feed... I thought I knew what I was doing, but after much research I wonder if I even know what I'm talking about. Hoping my biocircuits are rebooted this morning.

It's all so primitive! Barely past punch cards! Hardly better than Tube Goldberg toys! Sticking people with needles and sewing them up like cloth!

Beam me up.

"How in the world can you agree 1000% AND think we're too far gone for it to work?"

Kind-of reminds me of the mixed emotions of an old declaration about forms not being abandoned for light and transient reasons, but when the abuse becomes intolerable...

Usually that's so for me, but I mistook monkeytoe for panz up there, at first glance, especially based on length. But when I ran across the real thing, yeah.

I heard incandescent bulbs killed polar bears, but the curly flourescents had all that mercury that's a bad thing in dental fillings and vaccines.

So I tried those LSD alternatives. I've saved a fortune. Dazzling bright colorful lights, many beyond the visible spectrum. Plus I have the loveliest chats with my fingernails.

"So either the bay is now an enclosed lake with no outlet that is being fed by a massive spring, or liquids have different properties in the Delaware region than in the rest of the world, and doesn't seek to level with the Atlantic."

That struck me as awfully funny.

But it could happen... like it did in Japan...
