Mrs & I watched another old Tom Baker Dr Who tonight, our big Sat. night entertainment. For dessert, we watched the ONT. Thanks, CDR M; nice one.

Which as usual lately leaves me no time to indulge in participating in the smart award-winning moronic banter, just the lobbing of this drive-by comment.

That was quite a good pitch, considering the wind-up!

Congrats to Jake in ID for #1.

Disappearing car features - sigh! Well, I'm about to head home in my manual five-speed pick'm'up, with actual keys (chipped, though), antenna that goes wonga wonga when it hits low branches, and that narrow back bench seat which the dog likes, especially with the crank windows rolled down.

Keep on praying, plotting, and partying, revolutionaries.

"Marine Corps Col. George Bristol was in a key position in the U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) chain of command the night of the Sept. 11, 2012, attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya. As such, he's high on the list of people that some Republican members of Congress want to interview. But they don't know where he is and the Pentagon isn't telling."

How conveeenient! Anyway, athispointwhadiffrnseduzitmake?

I cannot argue with anything Mr White said in #102.

It's morning in America. Rise. Shine. Resist tyranny.

If we can put a man on the moon, why can't we.... What? oh. Never mind.

Good morning, Revolutionaries, what's left of it.

Left of the morning, I mean, not the Revolution.

I recently mentioned my patrioticalish doodle series including, starting today, at least some of the Bill of Rights (http://mindfulwebworks.com/doodles). I think I confused the order of the 3rd and 4th Amendments and if anybody read my comment, I probably looked like more of a moron than usual.

My point was, I had been going to skip the 3rd because there didn't seem much to illustrate. Just in time, this story breaks about the police demanding use of a house in Nevada. So I moved the 4thA to Monday, 'cause now I have a hook on illustrating the 3rd. Alas.

Tapping the horde legal-Constitutional mind re 1st Amendment: Since it seems the Federals who caused charges to be brought, I used G Zimmerman as illustration for redress of grievance. Too much of a stretch, y'think?

I salute the Overnight Independence Day post.

And I salute the red- white- and blue-blooded patriots who still pledge allegiance to the flag, and to the eternal spirit of 1776 for which it stands. And the country, too, if we can restore it.

Big fireworks show & lots of sideshow private fireworks in a small town tonight in the middle of the nation, thundering like it was 1955. We're still here!

"None of the officers were ever subjected to official discipline or even inquiry, the complaint states.
"The Mitchells seek punitive damages for violations of the third, fourth and 14th Amendments, assault and battery, conspiracy, defamation, abuse of process, malicious prosecution, negligence and emotional distress."

At least!

For my daily doodles panels (niclink) I've been doing a patriotic theme starting Jul 1. Tomorrow's is on the 1st Amendment, next day's on the 2nd. I was going to skip the 3rd because as the article says, it's "a rare claim in the United States." Until now.... may be the 1st breath of a foul new wind. Cooperate orelse, comrade.

EC, maybe you can walk the puppy later and draw out his buddy?

Z testify? isn't the legal wisdom never if at all avoidable? And at this point, what difference would it make? ;P

Yeah, um, and so did Jefferson a few lines later.

...evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security....

Character Matters

They keep turning heroes into something less. Either they don't know the true nobility of the human spirit, or they mock it on purpose. Darn those them. I will not support them Uncle Sam.

Photos of Patriotic Americans in Bikinis

There is a line between wearing stars & stripes & actually wearing the flag. And a difference between wearing the flag appropriately (image on shirt) vs not (image on butt). The one woman not in a bikini, for example, but draped in a flag. I think that comes close to disrespecting. I checked all the pics and mostly the rest seem okay. I should check again.

(Salute!)

"M-80s and Cherry Bombs were banned by the feds long ago." -Vic

Long nostalgic sighs. So many cherry bombs, so many kids, so many 4ths, not one significant injury among us.

Jackasses for Darwin excepted. Eldest bro stupidly holding a Roman Candle one year - despite Dad's strict rules drummed into us annually - blowed up, of course; minor, but hospital-run-worthy. And the rest of us learned. And felt superior.

M80s in the swimming pool. Underwater fireworks!

Why did you dress those cats that way, Vic?

Pre-web LOLcats. The more things change...

I hated Summer camp. My two friends loved it & went back the next year. I wanted to be with my family, at the pool, at the lake, like past summers. I sympathize deeply with all the Differently Minded kids struggling with folks who don't always understand their needs, in school, camp, anywhere. (Of course, that being the Summer right after my folks split & I was writing Dad at his office address might've had some little effect on that.)

It's not just the "long train of abuses and usurpations," as troubling as they are. Gov always manages to have those. Rather it's that we can see that they seem clearly to be "pursuing invariably the same Object [which] evinces a design to reduce them [us] under absolute Despotism."

let's see... I think I can do this bit from memory...

That whenever any form of government
becomes destructive of these ends,
it is the right of the people
to alter or abolish it....

I would say not just right , but duty, to ourselves and our posterity.
