Egypt problems? Don't worry. I'm on it.
Did I mention I'm a decorated Viet Nam War veteran?
"...giving them the benefit of the doubt that they actually thought she'd bought beer."
Suspected. Imagined. But NOT 'thought.' NO reason to violate her right to unreasonable police search. Ergo, no benefit of doubt.
"visitors to Gettsburg complaining that there weren't any bullet holes in the monumnets. They were also amazed that so many battles were fought on park land." -Roger O. Thornhill
They're just not thinking 4th-Dimensionally!
"They couldn't have intercepted her before she got to the car, identified themselves calmly, and asked to see what she'd bought? Fuck the police-state." -AllenG
Or, just a thought, they could've done absolutely nothing at all since the thugs had zero evidence of anything that should cause them to suspect, much less terrorize, a citizen going about her legitimate business.

Nothing wrong with dialects. Even for Haitian-inflected ebonia, not a problem. If it's too non-standard, get a translator. But with Ms Mumbles, you need to get an earhorn.
Mom attended a funeral over in SW Arkansas. Friend of the deceased gave a eulogy of which Mom said she couldn't understand a word. Not mumbling. Just that peculiar Arkansan accent, cadence, and idioms.
by the time you finish, the Horde has completely abandoned the subject and is on to something else. :\ -- HeatherRadish™
Yup. Always. Another natural incentive to keeping it short, simple, or shutup. ![]()
to each his own, but I almost always tl;dr on panzernashorn posts. I've posted long ones, & not just calling long wrong, but OTOH sometimes I don't post a long thought here but on my own non-traffic'd site, to spare the short attention span horde. ("Get a blog!") I usually start out interested in what panz is saying, but then the ADHD starts in.
It doesn't have to be Tweet-short, but a bit of long thought, and heavy-handed, time-consuming self-editing, can make for more concise & powerful points. Advice for all us sometimes too-wordy posters.
Top ranters & storytellers excepted.
"give West a pass on Zimmerman. His opinion was about a month after it happened and everything he is relying his opinion on is wrong but was reported as fact by the media."
As with his other 'gaffes,' this would speak to his credulity and wisdom. Who you listen to & believe matters.
"Seattle Mariners Fly Gay Pride Flag at Home Game"
I'm picturing a Baseball's Greatest Moment where some kids try to burn a rainbow flag...
"The shooter, Mr Zimmerman, should have been held in custody and certainly should not be walking free, still having a concealed weapons carry permit. From my reading, it seems this young man was pursued and there was no probable cause to engage him, certainly not pursue and shoot him….against the direction of the 911 responder.... Let's all be appalled at this instance not because of race, but because a young American man has lost his life, seemingly, for no reason."
-Allen West
(Is it too soon to call him 'Colin Powell Jr' in terms of disappointment?)
Translation: the police acted stupidly. What has the Col. got to say about this now, one wonders.
And his PJTV work sucks, too.
"The one that stuck with me is when West went all 'Trayvon!' right after the Zimmermann shooting."
Pigford.
BCC.
Trayvon.
It's almost as if Col. West has a blind spot in his conservatism. A macular degenerative color-blind spot.
"West made an ill considered vote over a minor issue. If you asked him about it today he'd probably say he fucked up...."
I like West. One of the closest things to a thrill I've had in politics since I posed for a pic with Goldwater was that photo of West and Palin shaking hands at Rolling Thunder. It almost felt like hope.
West mostly disappointed me with his wishy-washy politician-style barely-walked-back on Pigford, the non-apology on IIRC Ingraham's show. Good man? No question. Still needs some training up? Also true. The Black Congresscritters joining was just a little sad, too, but he shrugged them off, IIRC.
Also... good morning, Revolutionaries.
It's jus' lahk John Ono said, Wimmins is the kneegraws of the world.
And by cracker, to you did that mean white?
Mumbles: Yes.
...
And do you think creepy ass cracker is a racial term?
Mumbles: No.
...
(Rough paraphrasing)
Watching the re-enactment again, all I could think again was, dude! One shot! With recent posts about difficulty in taking someone down, especially maybe someone who'd maybe just got jacked up, all the more impressive. "You got me!" ... famous last words.
Good evening. That's all I have to bother you with.
"...mainstream media reporting of this trial has been quite different than what Andrew has been tweeting. "
No $#!+, Sherlock!
I watched the OJ trial on Court TV (taped-ff-watched) and had CompuServe Law Forum as closest thing to, like, AoSHQ. What the Mainstream News portrayed was not even close to the actual clusterfluke going on. But that just seemed to be rank ignorance and sensationalism at work. This is media incitement to riot.
What's really bad? So much of our system of jurisprudence is like this. For every poor Zimmerman we know about, how many other victims?
#Yucatan I really should scan ahead for replies already made. Then I could just comment, yeah, what he said, and I'd look much smarter.
