Or, did it actually hit land and form the gulf of Yucatan? : waldo
Is this random or do you have a link? When the evidence was first advanced, that was my very first assumption, but the details seemed to suggest otherwise.

Good morning, Revolutionaries. The box fans cooled the house down to Tolerable, so I slept almost 'til my alarm, fed pets, made coffee, and I'm reading AoS while the dog takes himself for a walk. A brief pleasurable moment (if I don't think about how the mess of my life is worse than the mess the Fed gov is in). I'll take what I can get.
"...no state can transcend the moral values of its citizenry as exemplified in their chosen leaders. Ignorance and selfishness will insure the downfall of even the highest type of government."
The Mrs and I finished our big Saturday Night indulgence, watching part 1 of Horror of Fang Rock. Old Who, new to us. Never saw the Leela years before.
Then, closing down programs and file browsers, there was the ONT where I had left it, back in the mere 200s. (Hope I didn't miss anything vital after that.) Sooo... thought I'd type a hello I must be going.
Let a thousand Gowdys bloom!
Wait, wait, I can't leave you with that on a Saturday night. (Shuffles through mountain of links.) Here!

"...like 20 milkshakes available for the summer. Including a peanut butter bacon one. And half price after 8..." -BCochran1981
You poor, poor fellow. Hey, it's after 8.
And the way those Mennonites make their women dress in plain print dresses? It's exactly like burquas!
"Former U.S. President JimmyCarter... human rights activist..." and yet despite his continuing efforts he is still only the 2nd worst US President ever.
"Now there is proof that changes in station shield surfaces affect temperature...."
Kind-of moot when they've been putting stations in hot spots like parking lots for a while to make sure temps are "higher." Or, so I've read.
"...finally sold my '60 caddy. Watching that thing go away on the back of that towtruck was a heartbreaker" -shredded chi
Awww. That hurts, and I didn't even see it! Not quite the same, but when they finally towed away the old Suburban, after ages of mostly-faithful family service, it was almost like losing a pet.
Logprof: Heh! October 17, 2012 12:20 AM: "Please don't take it personally, but your site kinda sucks." I went on a rant of thanks about it the next day you might've missed; a pan from a moron = better than praise by others! (When I showed your comment to my daughter, she agreed, "yeah, your animated rainbow logo [since replaced] does look kinda Geocities.")
Humbling to see that a dozen folks hit that link I posted in just a couple minutes. Many times my usual daily hit rate, right there. (Should I apologize? Can't say you weren't warned!)

Oklahoma had the painted lines and the planes for speed checks decades ago. Don't know about now, but nowadays, I hardly ever even see a HiPo anymore.
Apropos of nothing here, just for some morons' amusement or something when the blog gets slow:
Today's "doodle" is, of course, lame ("your site kinda sucks" —logprof), but depicts The Cars I Have Owned (or, more like, have owned me). Linked in nic.
Home invaders caught on cam, clear pix, even a name. (Posted by PJ at the end of the Home Invader thread, thought it worth reposting)
Freedom party - Liberty party - Libertarian - Constitution party, all the good names are taken or despoiled. American party - wasn't that LaRouche or somebody?
Republican was a good term, nicely contrasting with Democrat as a political philosophy.
I like Sarah. When I first figured her out, 'way after she was the VP candidate, was when I first started having some hope there might be opposition to Obamunism. She still inspires me. But, third parties are more up-cliff-face than uphill battles. Split the right, and we get President Hillary. Or Obama term 3.
Basically, without some unforeseen surge in patriotic fervor, the splintered and undermined forces of the Constitutional Democratic Republic of the United States of America are going to continue to be overpowered by the united front of the Enemies thereof.
Welcome to the new underground.
War.
"...rethink about the weapons. If you are forced to go into a shelter..."
...you've made a terrible logistical mistake.
And congrats to Purp for showing off how to close a centered tag. ![]()
Don't go to the next thread yet. It's all centered.
We homeschooled our three. Tried curricula. Ended up just imparting knowledge about anything and everything wherever we were. Taught them: You're responsible for your own education, wherever you are.
Had a niece temporarily living with us. Out at lunch one day, because of a news item about Israel, the Mrs and I were explaining to the four young'n's one day about two thousand years of history, Disapora, pogroms, the current State, the six-day war, leading into current Middle East situation, when the previously-public-schooled niece randomly opines, "I need to do my fingernails."
