You know, I am on the far side of 60 and, while I did write in cursive when I was very young, I have not done so in decades. Not actually sure I still can. -Peaches
I'm only 59 and 22 months myself, Peaches.
Although I have lapsed in recent months, I started keeping a journal a couple of years ago, just writing in it something daily. Took a while to get back into it, but even my awful handwriting started looking better, with practice. Filled several blank booklets.
What was it, 4th grade? I began to realize, the girls had perfect classic cursive and I was going to forever be stuck with my awkward chicken scratches. I can make it pretty, but it's harder than walking backward.
Think of how the brain is employed in typing. Then think of what you do in handwriting, much less cursive. Different brain, almost. And long thought required as opposed to babbling as fast as fingers can fly.
Also, if you're not too good at out-loud or in-your-head conversations with the Almighty, it's not a bad way to get some thoughts out.
Now having said this... I need to get back to it again.
WT heck happened to our airplane thread? -OSP
Augered in -Mike Hammer
Augered in. What a term. Not sure I'd heard it before, and looked it up to be sure it's what it sounds like. (Topic drift warning.)
I recently was revisiting videos of 9/11/2001 Pennsylvania. Witnesses expressing astonishment that there were no bodies, so little debris, etc.
My "beliefs" are that what happened on that plane is probably just about what it seems, with the passengers' revolt; also, I wouldn't rule out that somebody might have shot it down, understandably so, and if so, that doesn't change the passengers' heroic efforts.
But what I noticed (again): most plane crashes, pilots were trying to avoid top-speed impacts with full fuel tanks; that day, the MURDING PSYCHOTIC SCUM were giving us the opposite, resulting (most unfortunately) in interesting, unusual studies in airplane physics.
In any case, that thing must've nose-dived at top speed, utter disintegration.
Quite humbling, really.
Disappearing posts again? I always envision this titanic behind-the-scenes struggle among Ace & the cobs, fought on some virtual backstage, argumentative flamethrowers and verbal ball peens, until at last only one is left standing, and only that post remains.
It's more fun this way.
They earned the deference I pay to that flag by being the third that fought to birth a new nation that was 33% apathetic, and 33% Royalist against it. They then chose a Republic that though far from perfect was in my estimation the most powerful testament to liberty and the innate rights of man on Earth.
A nugget out of sven's post I thought worth highlighting.

"If Zimmerman testifies..." oh, no way in Heaven his lawyers can be that dumb!
ahhh, the smell of ozone after a hammering... like a Spring morn after a storm. Or a bathroom after a flush, at least....
I'm going to close my eyes, hit refresh, and that nasty will be gone. 1... 2...

You just need to 'reach across the aisle' a little harder!
BTW, DAY 235 / 1,226 to go = 19.17%. ALMOST 1/5th!
Still depressing.
Benghazi survivors... more to come...
Oh yeah, them. They'd slipped down my whatever happened to list. Thanks.
"Charges are dropped for the evil 14 yo who wore an NRA shirt."
NOT GOOD ENOUGH! Charges dropped sucks bad. I want school officials FIRED! I want law enforcement rogues BUSTED! BURN THE SCHOOL, SALT THE... Well, maybe not that far, but we've got to make such Constitutional violations seriously punishable, get that message out!
FREE ZIMMERMAN! too.
Good morning, revolutionaries.
Back when they let me have tequila, I liked that Cuervo Conmemorativo. But there was one above that, Añejo? that transcended tequila harshness and approached good sippin' liquor.
Admittedly, my memories may be addled.
And now they're telling me I have to go back to my cell. Good night, revolutionaries. Tip: stock up on toilet paper, too!

Coulter ... here, I'll say it ... needs some strengthening and sharpening of her understanding of the application of fundamental principles.
I'm... I'm sorry. I know that kind of sweeping generalized disparagement will just stir up arguments.
That reminds me, I kept not having a chance to click on the various Palin photo links posted lately, doggonit.

Beer.
Then more tequila.
Repeat until enlightenment.
