And when I get glimpses of it, it's like looking at 1960s Soviet Union or North Korea gulags or some other window on another world. Surreal to me, and yet it's others' daily reality!

used to identify as libertarian - having never met a "conservative" who understood liberty as I did. But then, I never met a "libertarian" who did either. But, yeah, Libertarians is a spoiled brand, alas. Now I'd just say I'm a Constitutionalist, 'cause that pretty much covers it.
