Wow. Just watched the 17yo Tina playing Moonlight Sonata.
Calls to mind Beethoven let loose in a modern music emporium at the mall by Bill & Ted.
I'd like to think Ludwig would approve of the arrangement.

Got home a little earlier than usual (although not as early as I'd like to be our habit), to make sure the cats were able to come inside: The storm line that stretches from St Louis to Amarillo is just coming upon us. Lightning, still too far away to be heard, flashes in the West. The wind has picked up, and wafts through the oaks, sounding like light surf. And it's cooling off, which is welcome.
A day of frustrations, near-escapes, and delays, mostly involving computers. I have to say, shopping for electronics, there's no point in going to Staples or Wal-Mart anymore. What we needed wasn't even on the shelves. Ordered through Amazon Prime, to be delivered on Sunday (via the PO Box, so, Monday morning) at no shipping charge.
So, have I missed anything worth noting in almost 400 comments? Surely there's a gem or two in there amongst the poop jokes and boob pics?
Siiigh. I hate it when I find out I've been dragging around a false URL in my nic link. Not like anyone tried it and said, hey, mindful, that link is n.g., but just on general principle, y'know.
Fixed now. So, it links to Mindful Webworkshop Episode #5, the latest webwork, with me warbling and beating up on the 88's, with six more original songs, plus a bonus short animated toon.
I don't like to talk about it. It's a learning experience for me. You don't have to share. I would warn you against clicking on it, but, hey, maybe you'll accidentally hit the donation button while you're there. Handouts welcome.
Good night, Gracies. Remember: The disappointments hardest to bear are those which never come.
th??
We'll never get to the evil number at this rate.
Push the rock harder, Sisyphus!
I walk away for a few minutes and miss Carol?
Belated HI, CAROL! (* 2 for not waving back the other day when you said hi to me.)
This online community stuff is tricky. People come and go so quickly here. Go ask Alice.
I'm verging on crashing.
Unintended stray paste: Aw, man. I'm going to miss Slap.
Should I search upthread to see what this is about?
Captain Whitebread #275: On a positive note, in a little more than half an hour, I'll be celebrating 50 years of my trying God's patience.
Happy Birthday, youngster.
It's all downhill after 50.
Trust me.

Aw, man. I'm going to miss Slap.
Meanwhile, 200 comments later, I return...
kbdabear gets an A for effort, as always, with the Babes of Trek pix, but, sorry, points off for not having a shot of alternate-universe Uhura from Mirror Mirror.
And in other tragic bacon news:
A semi truck hauling pork products caught fire, causing traffic to shut down for hours. It happened on Interstate 68 in Cumberland, Maryland on Monday evening.
According to Salem News, the truck was carrying an assortment of pork products, including ribs and bacon....
A 911 dispatcher said he stepped outside and "could smell burning bacon...."

Aw, man, I coulda been top ten if I hadn't made that classic mistake. You know, checking out the post. Why do I keep doing that? ![]()
I - finally - got caught up reading, to my last comment. Before I refresh the page and see how many dozens more of must-read comments have been posted, I've got to go feed the pets. Which will mean that many more comments to catch up on.
Or, I could feed the pets and go on to doing things that need doing.
Naawwww....
grammie winger #133: ...somewhere down the line I will tell him what's what, coffee-wise....
You married the guy without knowing if he could make decent coffee??!!?? I mean, not testing out the s3x with him first I can understand, but, but, coffee!!
I've mentioned this before. I'm mentioning it again.
The premiere episode of Lost in Space looked promising, and pretty good for TV Sci-Fi of the day. By the 2nd episode, it devolved into cheap and cheesy campy shtick.
*Danger, Will Robinson! robot flaps arms like Trigglypuff *
The next fall, TV Guide, discussing the upcoming season's new shows, described something called Star Trek as being like Lost in Space. Consequently, not wanting a repeat of my disappointment, I missed many of the first episodes. Imagine how I felt when I finally caught a Trek!
Learned something about not trusting TV Guide reviewers, though.
When I saw the headline "Mother & daughter special snowflakes make news," I momentarily imagined you were linking to this:
"Oklahoma mother, daughter arrested after alleged incestuous marriage"
And no, wise guy, this isn't usual for Oklahoma. We ain't West Virginia.
And it gets better... "Court records show this isn't the first time Patricia has married one of her own children...."
Morning, Glories!
Vic and the EMTs have got to get together! By which I mean the EMTs. Vic's got it together.
I wanted to get some shots of the sunrise for a video I'm doing. Got up before the sun for a change, then found I'd left the vidcams back in town. Frowny face.
Had the tripod, though!
Anyway, there was no sunrise, because it was overcast. But I grabbed Milady's cell, which shoots hi-res video, and got some possibly usable shots of sort-of sunrise-lit clouds.
I suffer so for my art!
Just popped in and was reading upthread.
Got to Zombie's take on humor.
Talk about not funny!
Admittedly, the superhero texts require cultural familiarity.
And that's where that poor, isolated stick-in-the mud Zombie gets lost. Lacks culture.
I just squished a tiny gnat on the touchscreen and it raised the virtual keyboard. It would be funny... but you probably had to be there.
Just ribbing you, Zombie. No, I was serious. No, I wasn't.
I've been doing video editing all day and I have no business even peeking in here. So, off to the comfort of the flannel sheets I go.
Don't park in handicapped zones if you don't qualify.

Awoke and caught the end of the ONT, including the Vic Report... and then at the bottom of the page I found my good-night comment written up and still waiting to send. So...
Good night (then) and Good morning (now).
It may be whole wheat or even non-gluten bread, with sunflower seed butter and whole-fruit blueberry sugar-free puree...
...but it's still a basic Peter Pan peanut butter and Welch's grape jelly on Wonder Bread direct-from-heaven gift.
Chi: I had never heard of sunflower butter until tonight. Maybe I should get out more often? Sounds good. Just added it (or seeds to make my own) to my grocery list. Thanks.
You're welcome. It's been a progression from peanut butter (I now relegate peanuts to the same not-for-human-consumption category as soybeans) to almond butter to sunflower seed butter. Almond is good, but tasty almonds are expensive.
Sunflower is delicious, but you have to get the kind that are not stale, oil-spoiled, shelled-too-long. Gray and greasy tasting. The worst are often organic etc health food store sunflower nuts, possibly because the turnover is slow. Best is the Wal-Mart bags that seem to be fresh all the time.
